FSPN- NYC Late Game- HELLO sports fans. We're live from New York for game six of Pittsburg-Queens series. Last Friday Pitt took the lead on the series and hope to punch their ticket to the conference finals tonight with another Win. Pitt's spotty duo of Shirley Takamoto and Lance Freewell have proven to be one of the best tandums in the playoffs, but the Pride's young staff will not be denied. Adam Tevela and Valencia Zeraus have been red hot and refuse to let the conference's top seed run away from this one. While the Keystone crowds are known for their volume, the Queens' faithful are going wild knowing what's at stake here tonight. Win and force game seven, lose and your season is done. First off the tip, Queens strikes first with a well-drawn up pick and roll to get Micah Davenport open for a long 3 in the corner. But Keystone fires right back, getting Lance Freewell to draw the double coverage in the post to free up an open Wayne Kirkpatrick to even the score right back. Crazy way to start the game given how much of a low priority the arc has been for these two teams. Back and forth both teams go as we end up with 6 lead changes in the first quarter. The score was all tied up at 27 into the final minute of the dozen until a costly turnover by Cho Song-Hwa led to fast break points and a double arm slam from Lance again. We end one *PIT 31 QNS 27.* We go to deuce and right away you can see Queens make adjustments. They start to lean more heavily on their starters and pick up the tempo. A much faster and higher intensity quarter then the first which seems to catch the eastern conference champs off-guard. Corbin A. Li’Arci (CAL represent!) continues to be able to hold down the forty point Pronghorn, limiting his looks and forcing him to pass the rock to Pritchard rather than take a low percentage shot. Queens goes on a 12-0 run for 3:32 until Saga Ström manages to score to brake the hold. Pitt finds themselves down for most of the quarter, but like all champions do, they don’t panic and stay calm. Slowly but surely the keystones are clawing and chipping away at the lead. Once again we find ourselves tied with under a minute in the quarter, when yet ANOTHER Queens turnover causes ANOTHER Keystone fast break. The Freewell puts his head down and drives with authority. Attacking the rim with an unstoppable double arm dunk AND the foul with seconds left in the half. Pitt walks off the court and into the halftime with a three point lead. ** PIT 59 QNS 56** We go to the third and right off the bat we have a small incident to report on. Samantha Anderson is (G Rabbit) subbed in and a missed coverage leads to the 5’4 buck fifty bunny covering the 6-6 Shirley Takamoto. As Shirley contests for a rebound, the jump forces Sammy to land to the hardwood awkwardly, silencing the crowd. Sammy was taken into the back and we received reports that her toes are in the process of being x-rayed- ruled unlikely to return. *No Foul. * Shirley reputation bails her out on what simply looks like a mismatch that looks bad. On the very next play we’re treated to an improtu orchestra of whistles as Wayne Kirkpatrick and Micah Davenport share words, phrases and nearly fists. Refs hand out offsetting Flagrant fouls and warn both benches. Play is eventually stopped in its entirety as the Queen’s fans start to throw trash onto the court, clearly unhappy with how things are going. Micah sits while Wayne puts that aggression to good work, lighting up the quarter and event pointing the crowd to another sea of loud boos. The quarter can’t end soon enough as Queens finds themselves down 8 with work to do in the final frame : *PIT 91 QNS 83 Queens comes out strong in the fourth and makes to stay within 2 scores for most of the quarter but are unable to get closer then a basket. Down 5 with 3 minutes to go, Adam Tevela gets his legs caught up with Brandon Dreyvus on a loose ball, and the punk possum gets right up and starts clutching his thigh. Trainers had to be called in to send Dreyvus off the court and once again both sides are warned and we received reports of atleast four fans around courtside being ejected during the delay. The refs were rapidly losing control of this game and the end couldn’t come quick enough. With 2 minutes to go down 4 (110-106) Queens gets caught for a bad moving pick violation that both the crowd and Queens’ head coach Christopher Dunphy disagree with. Desperate to retain any order, Dunphy is assess a game misconduct and removed from the final hundred seconds of the game. Disorder descends on The Asphalt Savannah as Riot staff are bought in to guard the edges of the court. Play is stopped for almost 10 minutes before the game resumes. Queens tries to slow the Keystone’s tempo down by playing the foul game, but to no avail as Pitt can’t miss a FT. The siren scream and the Keystones receive a police escort to the locker-room. It’s no incident at Howler’s stadium but this is not a night the Pride will remember easily. -J. Kanter
