Yves looks at the crowd with a smile, almost a sly grin. The fox has something special on his mind, and the crowd knows it. He stands at the sideline near half court, with two balls in his paws; perhaps a double dunk? Yves puts the balls down as he slowly pulls up his jersey to reveal a San Jose Thrust jersey! It's number is 33 - the jersey of Kwaku Bbwaddene! A teammate gives him a blonde wig to complete the look, which Yves wears. He beats his chest and howls at the crowd! The crowd reacts and starts getting hyped as Yves's dunk turns out to be an homage dunk to the 2-time Dunk contest champion!

Yves "Bbwaddene" takes the position as he grabs both basketballs once more. Keeping one ball close to his chest with his right paw, he dribbles the other. Hyping the crowd once more, he takes off! Running full speed toward the basket, coming at it from the right side, he takes a leap! As soon as he closes in toward the rim, he dunks the first ball from his right paw into the basket. Then, without any hesitation, he turns and comes down hard with the second basketball in a fierce windmill dunk! The crowd explodes! Yves lands back on his feet and beats his chest, letting out a huge howl, channeling the Green jungle Wolf himself.

"And with that, lets take a look at the leaderboard, and see who’s moving on to Round 2.
Tied for 3rd place we have Tyler Conley and Leon Delmont with 37 points apiece. In second with have Yves "Jacobs" Carbonneau with 40.5 points – and going into the second round on top is Sterling Bengtzing with 41.5 points.

==== Sterling Bengtzing ====
"Unfortunately that does mean we’ll have to say goodbye to Trevor, Luther, Arther and Jojo, who showed us some great dunks that  just didn’t make the cut.

A cage is wheeled in as a familiar guitar solo plays on the background. The polecat is inside, wearing what seems like a luchador mask, jersey, old style basketball shorts, and... knee-high black boots. His guitar-wielding, cloaked and Guy Fox mask-wearing assistant, revealed to be Voodoo Rookie Rion,West-Penrod, opens the cage, and lets the polecat loose... only to have him fall on the ground. All the music and light effects stop, with the crowd gasping and laughing at the act. Sterling looks around sarcastically mortified, making faces, iliciting the crowd's reactions.
"Well, We’re gonna take a quick break here, but stay tuned – this contest is just getting started!"

He gets up, dusts off, takes the clunky boots off and unrolls his shorts, revealing that they are normal ones. Rion offers him a carrot cake in one paw and a basketball that has "SELF SERVE" written on it in the other, to which Sterling refuses. Instead, he opts to fish out a ball from near the judges table, continuing the Mr. Bean-esque skit as he shooes his assistant away. Sterling steps down the sideline, making his way towards the hoop, attempting to pass the ball under his leg, but it slips, and he has to bobble it a little before recovering it, before sinking the ball in powerfully.

Leon strides onto the court microphone in paw, basketball sitting at the half court line. He turns to address the crowd as he stands from the free throw line, "25 years ago, Healey Davis wowed fans with his perfect Free-Throw line dunk. But if the FBA has proven anything, it's that players fight, struggle, and claw their way to surpass the previous generation," he says, taking a step away from the basket. "We saw one such attempt already tonight. However far from perfect, it embodied that mentality." He speaks, taking another long stride, standing just at the top of the free-throw circle, an additional six feet from the free throw line. "So the question here, is can I do just that?"

He motions for the camera crew on the sideline to step onto the court, the jumbotron above the cougar lighting up, showing the line Leon stood next too. Smirking to the crowd he points upwards, "Just so the haters can't doubt exactly where I jumped from. No 'poor' camera angle excuses hiding exactly how far I jumped here tonight," he jokes before handing off the mic.

=====Overview=====
===Tiebreaker Round 1===

And with that the first round of the 3pt contest comes to a close! The thinnest of margins separates players from the Second Round as we see rookies, veterans, and a former 3pt champion fall in the first round! A four-way tie between for the 5th seed was a little unexpected, but with the level of talent here this week, it should not have taken me by surprise.
Tiebreaker order will go based on the speed at which the competitor managed to reach the tying score last round, with the fastest going first and the slowest going second. Tiebreaker will repeat again if there is no winner after one round until there is only one winner.

Leading the way into the Second Round will be Derek Kim, who came out on fire here tonight, missing only five buckets from beyond the arc! But he will have to keep that amazing consistency up if he hopes to stand a chance, as not far behind this round was two veterans of the competition Lance Wildfyre and Jonathan Lawyer. These two players are repeat finalists for this competition and showed how much that experience pays off, as both kept cool and calm despite the pressure, both posting 20+ score rounds.
====François Martineau====

The surprise of the round has to go to a newcomer of the competition, Yesina Selas, who despite not completing her last rack, leaving two balls un-shot, she still managed to put up 20 points! Despite the pressure of shooting second to last and knowing the high mark she had to meet she managed to even surpass the 19 points needed to force a tie and leaped up into the 4th place for the round!

The remaining competitors moving on include a former champion Kresta Renstill, who barely scraped into the next round with only .2 seconds left on her final shot, a veteran 3pt contestant, Matthew Silvius, who is still looking to make his first 3pt Finals appearance, Aurora Goldshine, who is looking to make a deep run in the 3pt Contest for the first time since her defeat in the Finals back all the way in 2015 to Jake Velox, and lastly Kaspar Kuusik, who bounced back from last year's disastrous showing where he only put up 8 points.

Coming into Round 2 the kkachi is flying high after dominating the first round! That gives him a chance to set the pace here in Round 2 as he will go first.

Unfortunately, the bird struggles to find consistency early on! Miss, make, miss, make; back and forth it goes through the first four racks before he finally finds his shooting stroke and puts up an impressive seven straight to finish the round with a score of 18. While a respectable score, given the talent coming up the question on everyone's mind is if it will be enough.
=====Overview=====

"And with that the first round of the 3pt contest comes to a close! For the first time in a few seasons we had a 3pt Contest without any rookies, and was it close! It took a 3-way tiebreaker battle to determine the final participant but now we have our top 8 moving on! And talk about the thinnest of margins separating these furs. An unprecedented six way tie for second and a three-way tie for eighth with a difference of only 5 points of first place and being eliminated!

"Leading the way into the Second Round will be Kresta Renstill, who started us off having received the most votes from the fans. She had one of the best rounds, her score hampered by missing three money-ball shoots which kept her just outside of scoring 20, but nonetheless the 2018 3pt Champion will lead off in the Second Round! But the field behind her is no slouch. Matthew Silvius, Derek Kim, and Julian Cross-Kiraly have made it all the way to the final round before and look to steal the win for themselves. But perhaps the hungriest of all will be Lance Wildfyre, a three time finalist dating back all the way to [[2016 All-Star Week]], who looks to compliment his Dunk Contest Trophy with its companion 3pt Contest Trophy.

~Ryan Eastman
"The surprise of the round has to go to a Terry O'Toole, who crashed out of last years competition with the lowest score of 12; but has apparently worked hard on his consistency from beyond the arc, being a part of the six way tie for second place going into the 2nd Round. Question will be can the Sophomore keep up with the rest of the veteran field as the margin of victory shrinks with each round?

====Lance Wildfyre====
"But before we could wrap up the 1st Round in true FBA fashion we had a three competitors tie for the last spot! Last years champion Jonathan Lawyer and Alessandro Serra were just unable to exceed their 1st Round totals, putting up only 15 points. Whereas François Martineau moves on with an impressive 20 points; remember the high score from the 1st Round was 19 which surely gives the retriever confidence moving into the 2nd Round.

The rabbit from Bangor takes the court second, in terms of All-Star Week Lance is a favorite and is still looking to notch up a win here in the 3pt-Contest after finally managing to win the Dunk Contest two years ago.
"The last competitor moving on we have not talked about is Narkissa Kassius, who we have not seen in a 3pt Contest since the [[2017 All-Star Week]] where she fell out in the First Round. Yet her score this year was enough to have her join her fellow Albany Alpha Terry O'Toole into the Second Round.

Starting the round the rabbit is absolutely on fire! Perfect through the first rack and quickly moves onto the second where he continues his tear until he finally misses on the 10th shot, unfortunately that is also the money ball of the rack. But nonetheless that early start is more then enough momentum to help carry him through a middling third and fourth rack breaking a little better than even there before finishing off strong in the final rack with only .5 seconds to spare after making the final money ball.
"These are your eight players moving onto the Second Round!"

Very quickly Lance has taken center stage here and put the upcoming competitors on notice, the new score to beat is 22!

Another veteran of the 3pt contest is up next, the meerkat from Dakota has found himself in the finals the past two years, both times unable to snatch away a victory here as he now walks onto the court, forced to followup after such a great performance from Lance Wildfyre.
First to set the benchmark in Round 2 is our 2018 3pt Contest Champion!

And perhaps the pressure is being felt as he misses five of his first ten shots here on the first two racks! But he looks to have recovered as he moves through this third rack with a perfect showing...and he doesn't look like he's ready to stop anytime soon as he continues his streak into the fourth rack! Oh, just barely misses the fourth of the rack ending his impressive streak of nine but he continues on an absolute roll hitting the final six shots. An unreal showing on the back half where Lawyer went 15 for 16 there...setting a new top score for the round at 23!
After setting a 1st Round high of 19 points, the 7th year silver fox struggles early. Unable to find consecutive baskets until halfway through the round during the third rack spell trouble for the former champion; the only positive being the two money-balls hit to that point. Her struggles persist into the fourth rack, again bouncing between makes and misses, finishing the rack with a make on the money-ball giving her a total of 12 points going into the last rack.

~Ryan Eastman
Knowing she needs to run the board she slows down, taking her time between shots and for the first time in the round looks like the sharpshooter we know and love, hitting the first four of the rack before time running out. Unfortunately the pace was just not enough to make sure she could finish, however that final rack scoring flurry does mean she finishes the 2nd Round with 16 points. A number that surely has her worried based on the 1st Round where six of the coming competitors managed to supersede that.

The lemur from Plymouth is up next. Many were surprised by her First Round showing as she blew past most of the favored competitors to nab the 4th highest score.
Next up is the Albany Alpha sharpshooter Narkissa Kassius, blazing through the first round she came out on top of the six furs who tied in terms of speed.

And whatever pressure she must be under is clearly not enough to affect her as she's shooting well here early, aside from the first ball just rolling out she finishes the first rack with four measured shots. Though the wheels on start to fall off as she moves through the next three racks with crucial misses on each of the racks money balls putting her well behind the pace of the rest of the competitors. And it looks like she knows it too as she's taking her time here on the last rack...one, two, three good so far but oh no! The buzzer sounds with two racks still left on the rack and she does not look happy with her performance.
She starts off strong! Missing only a single basket on the first rack and that momentum carries through the rest of the round, stumbling on the next two rack's money-balls is a disappointment but the consistency on the rest of the racks is astounding. She even finishes strong with six consecutive makes! It would have been seven but the last was reviewed and waved off as she did not release the ball until 0.1 seconds after the clock ran out. But her consistency this round is surely something to fear!

With a final score of 15 Yesina Selas finds herself on the cusp of elimination with four shooters to go.
With 21 points, Narkissa has raised the bar, and potentially booked a ticket to the finals with that amazing showing!

Matthew Silvius is up next, the Finals MVP still looking for his first finals appearance in this, his fourth attempt in this competition.
Up now is likely the most experienced of our competitors today, Lance Wildfyre looking to book another finals appearance here tonight.

He struggles to gain a rhythm through the first rack and it shows as he misses the first two in the second...but manages to put together a small streak of four into the third rack before the misses start up again. But the key money ball on the third rack gets a lucky bounce off the rim and helps him run up a rapid streak of five shots before finally missing on the fourth money ball. The last rack is a messy affair as he seems to be rushing through, perhaps concerned about making the same mistake as Yesina did but it's costing him as he misses three of the four first balls in the final rack. But the final money ball is good with 2.4 seconds on the clock though the weasel surely could have paced himself better, a score of 19 will knock out Yesina, but with three shooters left Silvius will have to watch to see if he moves on.
He starts strong in the first half, only missing three single point shots in the first two racks before stumbling in the middle of the third with a bad run of three misses. Yet the rabbit manages to refocus and nail the money-ball and ride out the last two racks with only another three misses plus the last shot not being in time.

~Ryan Eastman
In the end Lance puts up 19 points, thanks in part to going four of five from money-balls, placing him right in the middle between Kresta and Narkissa as we move onto our fourth shooter.

Aurora follows next, looking to slink back into the finals for the first time in many seasons here tonight.
After finally making a 3pt Finals appearance on his fourth try, Matthew Silvius lost out to fellow Biker Jonathan Lawyer; but with last years champ eliminated in the first round the weasel looks to make his second finals appearance.

Luck does not appear to be on her side early here though as she watches four of her first six shots bounce off the rim. It does not look like she will be able to shake off that tough start as she is struggling here through each rack, only managing to put up three at most per rack as she heads into the final rack...but this is where she makes her stand, hitting four of the last five shots to finish out the round with a score of 18, which currently ties her with Derek Kim for fourth place. With two shooters left to go both of these players now have to start mentally preparing themselves for the potential for a shootout to determine who moves on should the next two shooters fail to eliminate them.
And does he start off to a blistering pace! He looked a little shaky in the first rack but made seven straight to go perfect on the second rack. However he started to cool off and at the worst times, missing the last three money-balls despite and missing a total of six shots over his last fifteen. Yet even without the help of the bonus' from the money-ball the weasel finishes tied with Lance Wildfyre with 19 points.

The sophomore lynx from Biloxi is up next. Kaspar Kuusik bombed out of last years 3pt Contest finishing in last place, but has turned it around here tonight as he now looks to make it to the Finals!
Next up is Julian Cross-Kiraly, the saluki from Hawaii is up next. As the fifth fur up he has to at least score 16 points to force a tie-breaker with Kresta Renstill, any more and he eliminates her and any less he will be the first one out.

He starts off extremely well with an impressively fast first rack in under 9 seconds that nets him a cool five points quickly and the momentum carries over to the second rack as he racks up a five-shot streak that is unfortunately brought to an end on the second money ball. The following miss seems to rattle the young lynx as he is taking longer to get off his shots, not sure whether it's fatigue or being overly cautious but time is ticking as he moves to the final rack...and there's the buzzer. Just like Yesina Kaspar will leave two balls un-shot on the final rack.
He starts off alright on the first rack, two misses in the middle have been the norm tonight as has nailing the first money-ball; but then the train starts to derail. Only hitting one shot on the second rack puts him behind the pace and while it looks like things might turn around in the third, the money-ball rolls around the rim and out netting only two points from that rack.

His final score of 18 also adds him to the list of competitors faced with the potential of a tiebreaker round...as all eyes shift towards the last competitor who can potentially eliminate all three of them.
With only 7 points after three racks it would take a massive rally to get back into contention, which the saluki nearly delivered. Hitting five straight pushed him up to 13 with four shots remaining, yet time would be his biggest enemy as he ran out with two left on the rack. Finishing the 2nd Round with 14, making him the first to be eliminated.

The reigning 3pt Champion Kresta Renstill will go last here tonight. Three players already through to the final round, while three more watch on. Their hopes of moving on depending on how the fox performs here.
The last finalist from 2019 finally gets his shot at punching a ticket to a second Finals appearance. Last year it took surviving a tiebreaker battle to make it to finals, and he needs to score at more than 19 if he wants to avoid that possibility here!

And she's off to a blistering pace! The first rack goes smoothly as she moves onto the second where she doesn't even break a sweat as she hits all five in a row and continues her growing streak all the way to nine before finally missing in the third rack but she recovers quickly and hits the final two giving her a score of 16 with only ten balls to go. But as quickly as the fell for her in the third rack the basketball gods seemed to turn on her in the fourth. Each one bouncing off the rim leaving her with only five balls to go and still needed two points to force a tie. Moving onto the final rack she hits the first! But any excitement is quickly squashed as she misses the next three...it all comes down to the final ball. She makes it and she's through to the finals, eliminating the three players on the sideline. She grabs the ball and goes through her motion, the buzzer and her release are so close together it's tough to tell whether she got it off in time...but it's good! But we are still waiting on the refs to confirm she got it off in time...and no, they are waving it off saying the ball didn't leave her pays until .1 seconds after the buzzer sounded. So close but the thinnest of margins of time will eliminate Kresta Renstill with a score of 17.
And boy does he make a statement.

'''Kresta Renstill Eliminated'''
A blistering scoring pace through the first two racks with only three misses is cranked up in the final half, only missing three shots over the final fifteen attempts. However he is held back by all three of those misses coming on the money-ball. Even then his impressive showing is enough to tie Narkissa Kassius with 21 points and guarantee a back-to-back finals appearance for the kkachi.

Kaspar will start us off here in the Tiebreaker round as he reached the score of 18 fastest of any of the three competitors. Will have to see if he ups his pace as last round he left baskets un-shot on the final rack.
The Irish wolfhound is the second to last fur to take the floor, with fellow Eastern Conference All-Star Derek Kim and Narkissa Kassius having already locked in two of the four final's spots, he needs at least a score of 19 if he wants to guarantee a tiebreaker and higher if he wants to secure his seat in the finals.

He isn't off to a good start as he misses his first shot but quickly recovers and finishes up the first rack going three for five, the same percentage is repeated in the second rack but by missing the second money ball the lynx is putting himself in a tough spot if he's looking to set a high mark...but oh my god does he turn it on at the halfway point...two...four...nine in a row! As he misses a second money ball to end that long streak and he's starting to look tired as he misses the next two to follow as well before putting up one last shot before the buzzer. With a score of 18 he finds himself with the same score as last round...and the same questions to be asked if he did enough as he walks off, two balls still left on the final rack due to his pace.
Unfortunately Terry is off to a bad start with three misses in his first rack, already putting him behind the needed scoring pace...but WOW does he deliver in the second rack. Finding his groove and converting the next five to at least keep his hopes alive. Yet inconsistency strikes again after the transition to the third rack and missing all but one of his shots, already the pressure is mounting in an impossible situation for the wolfhound as he heads into the fourth rack with only 9 points, the path to the finals shrinking with every miss...even as he moves to the final rack with time winding down he would have to hit every shot in under 5 seconds, a near impossible ask. The second ball rattling off the rim wide to the right is the final nail in the coffin as Terry lets the time expire, putting up 13 points total.

Goldshine is walking onto the court next, she needs to exceed her own score last round if she wants to eliminate Kuusik and put the pressure on Kim.

Consistency is once again an issue as she struggles through the first two racks, missing both money balls before a back and forth of making and misses occurs in the third rack. Though it at least culminates in her first money ball as she moves into the back half of the balls. Finally she finds her rhythm! On the brink of elimination she hits eight in a row before fatigue finally sets in and she struggles to even make the final three shots hit the rim. But with a score of 18 she might be in trouble, should Derek fail to score higher her and Kaspar will be heading into another tiebreaker shootout and she is starting to look very winded from all these shots.

After patiently waiting on the sidelines it is now Kim's turn. He needs to at least match his score of 18 from last round to continue to a second tiebreaker but he has the chance here to eliminate both competitors should he manage to one-up them.
And our last competitor for the round, the golden retriever who needed to overcome two competitors in an tiebreaker battle, François Martineau!

His first shot is not good but it does not seem to bother the kkachi as he hits his next four with ease. Moving onto the second rack and...oh! He slipped a little trying to move to the second rack. He looks fine but it clearly slowed him down some as he tries to rush the first two shots to make up the last time he misses them both. He does recover and makes the next two but the money ball just won't fall for him this time. A clean transition to the third rack seems to help him reset as his form is back, hitting four of the five from the top of the arc. The fouth rack goes smoothly with the money ball going in bringing his total up to 16 with only five balls to go. The first is good, the second is as well so we'll at least see a tiebrea-- and the third is also good! With that we have our final competitor! Derek finishes out the rest of his rack, not sure if he lost track of his score or just wanted to be sure but he managed to hit one more to bring his final score up to 20 points! With that we can move onto the Finals.
He starts off well nailing three of the first four before an unlucky roll out by the money-ball, but that doesn't shake the 2015 Draftee whose making his second appearance here in the 3pt Contest. His second rack goes better than the first, managing to swish the final ball and the momentum carries over into the third rack as he recovers after missing the first to nail the next two, pushing him up to 10 points at the halfway mark. But it looks like the tiebreaker sapped his stamina! The retriever unable to land any shot with consistency over the last two racks ending an explosive start with a whimper, only putting up 2 more points over the last two racks.

Finalist will go in order based on their finish of the previous round, with the highest scoring, or fastest if tied, going first.

The order in this round will be determined by previous rounds performance, starting with the top seed and progressing down the ranking.
====Derek Kim====
First out of the gate in the finals is Derek Kim from the Biloxi Voodoo! The Voodoo player making a back-to-back finals appearance here tonight facing off against two other finalist from last year, Matthew Silvius and Lance Wildfyre, and finalist newcomer Narkissa Kassius. In fact this will be the third time in five years Derek will face off against the weasel, the two meeting first facing off back in the opening round of the 2016 All-Star Week 3pt Contest as rookies!

====Jonathan Lawyer====
Derek starts off well making the first two, but inconsistency takes over as he trades misses and a make to finish the first rack...and the second is a duplicate of the first meaning two important money-balls fail to be converted. Rack three is as much of a struggle as the first two, Derek unable to find a streak until halfway through the fourth rack were he's finally able to find his stride, one-two-three in a row to finish off the rack; and the momentum carries over to the final rack where he lands a perfect five-for-five with only 0.3 seconds left!

The final two rack turnaround saved his finals round and put up a respectable score of 18. But is it good enough to stand up to the next three competitors?

====Narkissa Kassius====

Up next is Narkissa Kassius, the ringed-tailed lemur makes her first finals appearance in only her second showing of the 3-point contest, we first saw her compete in the 2017 Competition where she fell in the first round. The standout performer for the Albany Alphas needs to at least match Derek Kim's score of 18 to stay alive and can eliminate him if she sets the bar higher.

And she's off and quickly through her first rack of five without a single miss! Already setting a blistering pace as she heads to the second rack, where she has her first miss on the second ball but quickly adjusts and gets right on back to nailing her shots. The next miss is the same second ball on the third rack but again she is unfazed and gets right back on track. By the end of the third rack she has already netted a score of 16! And wow she is on fire! Putting away a second perfect rack as she heads into the final five shots has already put her score ahead of Derek's. Once again it's the second ball of the rack that ruins this perfect performance, only her third miss so far!

The buzzer sounds, but she still puts up her final shot which is good, though it won't count, meaning Narkissa Kassius leaps into the lead with an amazing score of 25 points!

Lawyer will start us off in this final round and the meerkat is looking like he means business with his first rack raining in five straight! That quick pace is threatened when he misses the next three shots but the meerkat takes a moment to reset himself as he finishes the rack with two makes, including the all-important money ball. Onto the third rack now...and another perfect one! That's two so far and he's continuing that streak into the next! Two...four...and oh just missing the money ball but that put him at a mind-blowing eleven shot streak! And he's looking to finish strong, despite missing the first one he manages to finish the rest of the rack cleaning with only 0.1 seconds left on the clock! And with that, the first shooter is finished...and man has he put up a daunting score of 24! Can any of the competitors hope to match that?

====Matthew Silvius====

Matthew Silvius is up next, the pressure ramped up to the max after that unreal performance by Narkissa. He will have to be nearly perfect if he wants to even match, let alone beat the lemur!

And it is not off to a good start, switching makes for misses through the first rack he has already missed as many shots as Narkissa had by the third rack. But he turns it around in the second and puts up a perfect five-for-five to keep him in the competition! His streak too comes to an end on the second ball of the next rack and while he cleans it up he finds himself one point behind the pace set by Narkissa as he moves onto the final two racks. Where he misses the first two! Now the weasel will have to be perfect over the last eight shots just to tie. It's looking good through the rest of the fourth and his shooting pace keeps him on track to finish all his shots- drat! It won't matter now as yet another shot ricochets off the iron. Despite that he continues on finishing the rack out with 1.2 seconds to spare, perhaps had he slowed down he could have made one of those missed shots but in the end Matthew will fall one point shy, ending with a score of 24.

The rabbit is up next, he is not a newcomer to the finals here but will the pressure of Jonathan's score impact his performance? The first rack looks good with only one miss but that miss already puts him behind the pace of the meerkat...but, unlike the meerkat Lance goes perfect from the second rack! But two misses to follow up that streak put him right back on pace with Jonathan. A quick string of four makes as he moves through the fourth rack but he becomes streaky, make, miss, make, miss...make, now he has to be perfect if he hopes to at least tie Lawyer! The first shot from the last rack is good...OH NO, Lance misses the second one and you can tell by the frustrated grunt that he knows he just missed out once more on a 3pt Trophy, nonetheless, he finishes out the rack with two more makes and one miss out of pride. Finishing with a high score of 23, yet it won't be enough to knock off Lawyer from 1st place.

====Lance Wildfyre====

Finally, the last competitor will take the floor, the crowd roaring with applause as we have reached the final moment of this contest. Can Lance Wildfyre best the near perfect performance of Narkissa Kassius to claim a long awaited three point crown? Or will Narkissa shock the fans and complete her surprising run for the 3-point Contest Trophy?

Lance is off to a good start knocking down the first four in quick succession until the money-ball rims out, ouch that's a costly miss and missing again two balls later puts him behind Narkissa's pace. He seems to take a second to refocus before knocking out the next three on the rack...and his streak continues into the third rack, one-two...all five! A perfect rack from Lance is keeping it close. But transitioning to the next rack may have hurt his momentum as he misses the first, and while the next two are good the second to last one bounces off the front of the rim. Lance has zero margin of error, he needs all six to force a Tiebreaker!

He's good on the money-ball and moves to the last rack, getting lucky with the shooter's roll on the first as it hit the rim and bounced in, the second, third, and fourth are clean swishes but he's running out of time as he launches the last ball in a quick heave...and it's good off the side iron!

'''Lance Wildfyre Eliminated'''
It was close though and they are going to review the footage...and it they are waving it off! His paw was on the ball as the clock ran out so there will be no Tiebreaker shootout here tonight in the finals.

With a final score of 23 Lance falls just short, and Narkissa Kassius is crowned the 2020 3pt Contest Champion!

As Lance walks off the court Matthew prepares to walk on, after a quick fist bump with his teammate Jonathan he heads over to the first rack. Much like Lance, he starts off well, missing the middle ball of the first rack but finishing strong with the money ball. The next two racks are a disaster for the weasel though as he's unable to find a strong rhythm, quickly racking up four misses over the two. But each rack he hits the money ball which is the only thing keeping him close to Jonathan's pace as he moves into the fourth rack...and a disastrous miss on the first shot ratches the pressure up as now he has to be perfect on the last nine balls just to force a tiebreaker! The first four are good...but once again the first shot of the rack is his undoing as he misses once again. He finishes the remaining four shots going four for four...and it looks like he didn't keep track of his points as he looked at the scoreboard before it seemed to set in that he was just one point shy of a tiebreaker. Despite going five for five from the money ball, it just was not enough as Matthew ends with a final score of 23.

And our final shooter tonight, baring a tiebreaker, will be Derek Kim. So far Jonathan has managed to squeak by the thinnest of margins, can the kkachi be the one to finally overtake him? Like the past two competitors, he starts off well, making it all the way through the second rack with only two misses which puts him actually ahead of the pace set by the leader! Though that is quickly knocked off as a miss on the third rack puts him back on pace and oh no! A crucial miss on the money ball is going to hurt. Jonathan set up such a blistering pace in the middle thanks to that long streak and it's looking like the competitors here are struggling to match it. But Derek is not done yet! A perfect fourth rack will keep him in it. If he can finish with a perfect run here he'll take the crown, he can only afford one miss if he wants to at least take it to overtime....and the first shot of the last rack bounces out...and the second...just like that the hope dies. He finishes the rack out of pride but missing the final shot will cause him to finish with a score of 21.

"Good evening everybody, and welcome, I’m Chris Whalen, your panda in the press, with exclusive coverage of the 2020 All Start Week Slam Dunk Contest. I’m here in historic Williamsburg va, and boy, is there lot in store for you this evening. We have 8 accomplished athletes who are extremely excited about getting to showcase their talent and skill in what promises to be a thrilling competition. But before we get started, let’s go meet our panel of judges who will be adjudicating tonight’s performances."

--Christopher Whalen

Judges

A panel of five judges was gathered to provide scoring for the event. The judges were instructed to rate the dunk on an overall scale from 1 to 10. (It should be noted that in the spirit of fairness, the identities of the dunkers were masked when the judges were given the dunks out-of-character. Names have been added back in after the fact, here in the descriptions below.)

In-World (OOC)

-Wes Kerry (Bryan Shadowolf), FSN radio host/sports writer.

-Geoffrey Whitewater (Qovapryi), Reporter for FUMB Magazine

-Marvin Del Grande (Ratiphex), Featured Editor at FUMB and host of FUMBLIVE.

Quarterfinal Round

FSPN Coverage of Round 1 with Chris Whalen

Lucy Jo Heitkamp

JoJo stands at the right corner, behind the three point line. She holds the ball high above her head, microphone in her other hand. "Well, it certainly is a right honor to be here. Now...Mr. LaChance, where are you at? I know you're watching somewhere..." She scans the crowd eventually locking looks with him "There you are! Now...Bless your heart, I know you said no three pointers but this un's part of my routine." She then sets the microphone aside, spotting up and taking a three point shot bouncing it off the side of the rim. She runs in and jumps up, grabbing the ball as it falls with her offhand, grabbing onto the rim with her dominant hand swinging around and dunking the ball on the opposite side. It's sloppy, and the ball takes its time to roll in. As she lands, she smiles and giggles again "Not too bad for a country bumpkin, huh?"

"I get the increased desire for theatrics and big statements, but when the dunk following that speech ain't much to write home about, the entire performance loses a lot of its shine." -- Geoffrey Whitewater
"Good attempt, but the execution could have certainly been better... not bad to open up the night, though!" -- Scott Masterson
The skunk rolls his eyes as Lucy Jo ventures out onto the court with a microphone, leaning in to make the aside to the robin sitting next to him, making the aside of, "Oh god, here we go..." When the comments come down to him, Marvin gruffly shrugs and says, "M'eh," before holding up a 6.0 -- Marvin Del Grande
"It was a pretty nice idea but I think the execution was a bit sloppy. Could have gone with a less complex dunk idea and done it better." -- Wes Kerry
"Guessing she wanted that to go a bit better but not bad. All that yammerin' beforehand ain't what I'm here to judge. But in the end, she got the ball through the hoop." -- Chuck Mandaville

Trevor Cruz

A tall figure clad in a platinum-colored ballroom mask and a mysterious green robe walks to center court, holding a small skyscraper souvenir in their left hand. They throw the skyscraper aside, then rip off the mask and robe, revealing their identity to the crowd: Trevor Cruz. Several two-foot tall building figurines are brought out and spread across the key, almost like a small city. They're painted with team names and recognizeable faces of fellow dunk contest competitors.

"I conquered the last contest I entered," he says, pointing toward the cityscape, "by towering over my competition and outlasting them. Today, I continue that toward some unfinished business, leaping over the competition and taking a step toward the trophy that eluded me last year."

Trevor starts racing toward the cityscape, dribbling the basketball before throwing it hard onto the ground just before the three-point line, watching it land in the space between the top of the key and the foul line, high into the air. He leaps just inside of the three-point line, twisting his body so that he can attempt to perform a 540 spin, but he falls short of the full rotation. Catching the ball in midair with his right hand, he bobbles it to his left before performing a windmill slam dunk, crashing the ball into the net. Trevor tries to use his momentum to swing forward and land behind the cityscape, but instead he crashes behind the cityscape, still popping to his feet with a triumphant pump of his arms.

"Now this is the kind of theatrics that I love to see in a dunk contest! Points off for the landing, but you nailed the dunk, so I'm not complaining!" -- Scott Masterson
Chuck has his head in the arch between his thumb and forefinger, covering his eyes. "What in the hey are ya talkin' about, Scott? That dunk was all the sizzle but none of the steak. Unless he was wantin' to fall before some of the greats. But I reckon that ain't the case. Sloppy. I expected better." -- Chuck Mandaville
"I'm surprised you didn't have your teammate Turner come out and live out his kaiju-wannabe fantasies as the coup-de-grace. Yeah, we get it, you were the skyscraper on Costumed Crooner. I could have done without the cheap theatrics. Dunk was good, though you came up short on the 540," he says before flipping the card pack to hold up a 7. -- Marvin Del Grande
"Certainly extravagant but it seems a bit too complex for its own good. Props for pulling it off but it could have been smoother." -- Wes Kerry
"Interesting idea, sloppy realization. The theatrics didn't honestly add much. Got the distinct feeling that Trevor bit off more than he could chew technique wise, although he demonstrated how he possesses the athleticism he needed to pull that off." -- Geoffrey Whitewater

Tyler Conley

At the top of the key, just above the three point line, Tyler throws the ball up in a high arch towards the basket. Unhappy with the result, he chases after the ball and tries to throw it one more time. It bounces off the ground and he takes off quickly to catch it just before it lands again. With his left paw he catches it and cocks it back behind him and brings it back forward to slam it in with a bit of force. This was a difficult one. He's right handed.

"No speeches, no showboating, just a straight-forward dunk that put you out of your comfort zone considering you're right-handed and you did the dunk with your left." The short mephit holds up a 7.5 -- Marvin Del Grande
"I like how he pulled it off, knowing that he is right handed, but it seemed to miss some pizzazz that you'd expect in the Dunk Contest. Where's my pizzazz? It's a dunk content. Give me some showmanship please." -- Wes Kerry
"Wes, it's a dunk contest, not some show on Broadway. This is what I like to see. No frills, no special aides. Just pure skill, and with their off hand, too. Ain't too many variables to go wrong, neither. I respect a show that gives us the skills and doesn't have to hide it behind smoke and mirrors." -- Chuck Mandaville
"Tyler showed how you can raise the bar and perform a solid, technically complex dunk without embellishing it with unnecessary props. Unfortunately, I will have to deduct a point because of the false start." -- Geoffrey Whitewater
"Solid dunk here! Extra points for the difficulty of it all, but it was a bit plain looking in the end." -- Scott Masterson

Luther Kierkegaard

To the theme of the UFFL song playing on the speakers, Dylan Redfield and Luther Kierkegaard walk out onto the court, a basketball under the arms of both of them. As they walk out, a second basket is pushed onto the court, where it stands side by side with the other basket.

Both the deer and jackalope have on a football player's trademark eyeblack; two lines under their eyes. While Dylan is dressed up in just a plan shirt and shorts, Luther is dressed up in Dylan's Dakota Biker's jersey.

The two of them walk out to the center of the court where they wave to fans. Once their hands drop, done waving to everyone, the UFFL song cuts off and is replaced with the sound of a drumroll.

Luther moves away from Dylan, and positions himself behind the deer, on the three point line. Once Dylan sees Luther there, he turns his back to him, crouches down, and gets into a long-snapper position.

"Hut, Hut... Hike!"

Dylan "hikes" his basketball to Luther.

Luther grabs the ball and takes off then, both basketballs in his hands.

The big man goes towards the left of the court. He throws the ball in his left hand up towards the left basket where it hits the backboard. Once his foot hits the restricted area line, he takes off into the air. His hand comes up, grabs the ball coming off the backboard, slams that one in, and then attempts to slam the other ball (in his right hand), into the right basket, but it bounces off the rim, so he has to take an extra moment to tap it back in again. As he comes down from dunking both balls, he turns his body and comes down, back to the baskets.

Redfield yells, "Touchdown!" and Luther grins, jogging up to the deer to give him a high-five. "

"I liked the showmanship here! I like it when different sports are given the spotlight in a dunk contest. But this one came a bit unstuck at the end. I still really liked it but that final moment just prevented it from being a 10." -- Wes Kerry
"I'm on the fence about the UFFL tribute in what essentially is a FBA-sanctioned event. Was that really needed, especially since we've seen dunks off long passes before? I get the novelty and all, but this did throw me off the loop for a second - and that's a shame, because the dunk was complex enough to deserve a good score. Like with Mr. Cruz, though, the level of skill isn't quite there yet to perform this one in a truly convincing fashion." -- Geoffrey Whitewater
"The execution was definitely sloppy at the end, and I think that putting another sport in the midst of the dunk felt... gimmicky in this case." -- Scott Masterson
"Yeah, I agree with Scott a bit, here. Definitely gimmicky, but then again, there weren't no props or major costumes, or nothin' like that. When you look at it, it was more about the skill than it was about the UFFL. Which does beg the question 'why?' I don't quite understand the thought process behind this one." Chuck starts to laugh. "Kinda reminds me of my wife whenever she watches anything that ain't basketball. They could have yelled homerun and it'd still make as much sense. But the dunk was messy, a bit ridiculous, but fun to watch." -- Chuck Mandaville
"There's a line in one of my favorite movies... 'And when that novelty wore off, they tried inter-sports play.' Uh, well, it almost got away from you, but you managed to save it. Bravo for pulling off a double-dunk... and for not giving a speech." -- Marvin Del Grande

Sterling Bengtzing

The polecat walks to the court, guided by his assistant, the Swedish otter model Renate Lundhammar, in a flashy, glittery dress. The polecat has all of his trademark hair tied up around his head and face, giving the illusion he is blindfolded by his hair.

He steps on the 3 point line with the otter under the rim, telling him the steps he needs to take his to position.

"Left... Good. Back... Good. Right... Good... Closer... Good."

Once she gives him the okay and steps to the side, he makes his way toward the basket, fumbling the ball slightly, but quickly recovering, before he jumps into the air, giving a powerful tomahawk dunk, holding and hanging to the rim, as he undoes his hair, letting it down free.

"Brilliant!!!! I loved this one. This is how you do a showmanship in this contest and with the dunk being as impactful as this one, You just gotta give it top marks." -- Wes Kerry
"That was one powerful dunk here! The added guide prior to the start was definitely a nice touch as well." -- Scott Masterson
"I appreciate the bravado and commend the muscle control that is needed to pull off such a dunk. To win a dunk contest you either please the crowd or out-badass your opponents, and this dunker has proven he can compete in the latter department. The execution wasn't flawless, but still the best dunk of the night this far." -- Geoffrey Whitewater
"Alright, alright. I agree. That WAS something special to watch. That is indeed how you do showmanship. The show was the skill. Not the speech, not to props. The star was the dunk and nothing else. And what a star it was. Well done." -- Chuck Mandaville

Yves Carbonneau

Coming on to the court for his first dunk is Winnipeg Voyageurs' captain and last year's Dunk contest Finalist, Yves Carbonneau. He showed a fair bit of variety in his dunks last year, but lets see what he has in store for us today.

It's number is 33 - the jersey of Rob Jacobs! A teammate gives him a blonde wig to complete the look, which Yves wears. He beats his chest and howls at the crowd! The crowd reacts and starts getting hyped as Yves's dunk turns out to be an homage dunk to the 2-time Dunk contest champion!

Yves "Jacobs" takes the position as he grabs both basketballs once more.

"A good homage to the former dunk contest champion! I'll be keeping my eyes open for the next round." -- Scott Masterson
"I'm kinda torn, because I do appreciate me some Rob Jacobs, but I've seen enough Slam Dunk Contests to know that showing up with the Green Meanie equals to winning easy. The dunk was good, and it was a crowd pleaser, but the homage felt a little too forced and bordering on pandering. I'll say this: Yves has to thank his lucky stars that he managed to make the entire stunt worth the bother with the actual execution of the dunk." --Geoffrey Whitewater
Upon seeing the dunker putting on a Jacobs costume, Marvin turns aside to the other panelists, "At least they didn't paint themselves green, that would have made this an instant fail in my book." Upon the completion of the dunk, Marvin nods, "Well... that was... pretty good. It straddled the line of where an homage turns into parody, and at the end I thought you were teetering just over that line with the howl, but the chest-beating was a little cringey, I gotta be honest. But I can't really let that ruin an enjoyable performance. The second double of the night, and I think you edged out the previous competitor by a hair." -- Marvin Del Grande
Chuck nods slowly. "Okay. Okay. Yes, it was a nice homage, but I wanted to see Yves here, not Jacobs. In any case, I'm not here to judge the wig or the homage, I'm here to judge the dunk, and the dunk was spectacular. They just ain't get any extra points or nothing for the wig. Nice, but ain't necessary."-- Chuck Mandaville
"A great tribute to Rob Jacobs! Being able to control two balls and the same time while also putting these two balls in like it was childs play! I loved it." -- Wes Kerry

Leon Delmont

Leon invites his fellow Summit teammate J.C. Golde onto the court, exchanging a high five before the 6'6" weasel lines up in the paint a few feet in front of the rim, basketball at his footpaws, with Leon a step behind the three-point line.

Leon gives J.C. a nod just as he starts to sprint towards the hoop and weasel. As Leon quickly approaches, J.C. pulls the basketball between his footpaws, using his right one to lift the ball off the court onto his rising left footpaw which sends the basketball over his back and head, performing a classic soccer rainbow.

The ball easily clears J.C.'s head just as Leon jumps up and over the weasel, clearing his head and catching the ball with his right paw, before passing it between his legs to his left paw and slamming it in.

Marvin mmhs, "Well, took us long enough to get to the 'jumping over someone' act... But, not bad. It's a good thing that your friend there managed to get enough height on the ball." -- Marvin Del Grande
"This felt a lot more creative and well-executed compared to the other sportsball dunk, I liked it!" -- Scott Masterson
"Decent Dunk here. I liked the nod to Soccer here but after the last few, It kinda felt underwhelming. A for effort but I was expecting more. " -- Wes Kerry
"I'm gonna side with Scott over Wes and say that this was more exciting than the football-themed dunk we saw before. Certainly, it was a bit of a gimmick, but at least it was performed flawlessly - and when an athlete of this caliber comes onto the stage and performs a dunk with such confidence, it means he put A LOT of thoughts and actual practice behind it." --Geoffrey Whitewater
Chuck snickers at Marvin's comment. "I was thinking the same thing. The foot-paw-kicky bit was a bit ridiculous, but that wasn't the dunk. Overall, good height, good control, well executed dunk." -- Chuck Mandaville

Arther Selby

The court looks rather empty as Arther approaches with a ball in his paws. As he stands there alone on the court, he juggles the ball between his handpaws, contemplating something. Then someone catches his attention off court, making the rabbit grin. Giving a nod, Merill, the racoon-taur of the Moonshiners comes onto the court with his jersey on. Arther places the taur underneath the basket, facing the sideline with him holding the ball above his head. Arther moves into position onto the center line; the nerves clearly showing on the rabbit's face.

Hop, hop, hop, hop, hop

Arther begins to hop on the spot looking at the basket.

Hop, hop, hop, hop

He looks towards the ball in Merill's paws.

Hop...hop...hop

His eyes close, the gaps in his hops becoming larger.

Hop...hop...

Taking deep breaths, the nerves disappear from his face.

...hop...

As his feet land on the floor, his eyes open. Arther makes a run towards Merill; approaching him head on. As soon as he is just meters away from the taur, he leaps in the air. He scoops the ball from Merill’s hands underneath. He holds onto the ball as he glides past the basket before dunking it behind his head, but it's not a clean dunk, and it rolls around as the forward momentum carries Arthur over the taur, landing on his feet to watch the ball finally roll in.

"Contrarily to the previous guy, looks like the nerves got to this dunker. The idea wasn't bad to start with, but the execution was lacking the confidence and attitude this stage requires." -- Geoffrey Whitewater
"I think you let the nerves get to you at the end here... Good attempt, just a bit short for the end result." -- Scott Masterson
Marvin scratches at the side of his face, "Oof. That.... was a thing. Did your original dunk plan fall through and you had to come up with something on the fly? Hate to say it, didn't work for me." -- Marvin Del Grande
"Ah, the nerves got to ya son, and it's a shame. You had too much here to think about. But the dunk wasn't half bad. A bit of a nail-bitter than a smooth dunk, but ya got the ball in." -- Chuck Mandaville

Semifinal Round

FSPN Coverage of Round 2 with Chris Whalen

Sterling Bengtzing

"I didn't know what to think about this one to begin with. I thought we were going to get a very serious dunk here and when they fell over, I though we were about to see a complete disaster but after realizing that this is a comedy dunk, I feel like this was a smart move to do but as they seemed like they struggled to dunk it after the skit, It felt like this one kinda got too carried away for it's own good." -- Wes Kerry
"As I said earlier, I'm not sure comedy dunks work better in this setting, or at least they're not to my taste as is. Nevertheless, gimmick aside, it wasn't all that bad of a performance. I just wish the dunker had focused more on the execution of the dunk itself." -- Geoffrey Whitewater
Marvin rolls his eyes, "I know you like to think you're the bad boy of the league, but that was low even for you. I'd begrudgingly overlook the incredibly tedious display and obvious digs at other players if you had followed through with a dunk that knocked everyone's socks off. My socks are quite secure around my footpaws at the moment." -- Marvin Del Grande
"The setup for the dunk was definitely an amusing experience, but I was hoping that the dunk itself would have been worthy of the setup because it was a bit... plain." -- Scott Masterson
"Mmmkay? Well, he got the ball in, I guess. It's a good thing y'all got yourself a career in basketball and not as a comedian. It was a simpler dunk than I was expecting, and it was a tad messy. Definitely gonna be stuck in my head for a while…" -- Chuck Mandaville

Yves Carbonneau

For his second dunk, Yves Carbonneau calls out for help from his girlfriend, Albany Alphas' player Narkissa Kassius. After a few moments having a conversation, she takes a ball and steps just right behind the basket. Yves walks towards the sideline. Preparing to make a run for the basket. Yves continues to communicate with Narkissa, as both are set in position. Looking at each other, Yves lifts a paw in the air, shouting "Un........Deux..........Trois!!"

As soon as he finishes shouting, Yves takes off for the basket. Narkissa lobs the basketball from behind the backboard, as the ball falls toward an incoming Yves over the left side of the basketball rim. Yves springs into the air, and grabs the basketball with his left paw, making a quick behind the back pass to himself in one fluid motion and slams the ball one-handed into the basket with force and authority, turning himself to face the basket! The ball bounces a couple of times as he lands on his two feet and runs towards Narkissa; they watch together as it bounces in before he gives her her a big hug and a kiss for a successful dunk.

"This was another trick dunk and I think these guys have pulled this one off very well. Nothing much you can say except spectacular! Another fine example on how to pull off a complex dunk with fluidity and force. This was great!" -- Wes Kerry
"Good idea and competent execution. I commend the choice to avoid pointless gimmicks and going straight to the dunk. Not much to say here, this was good - not a show stopper, but a high enough level of complexity to justify its inclusion at this stage and a demonstration of great timing and top-class technique." -- Geoffrey Whitewater
Marvin gives a thumbs-up, "Almost perfect. The setup was executed flawlessly, you had good control, and amazing air and rotation... I'm not sure if you intended to bounce it on the iron or not... given the way you ran over I'm going to assume not, but it didn't scream slam dunk to me. Had you sunk it instead of waited for it to bounce in, you'd have gotten a 10 from me. But, you'll have to deal with this," he says, holding up an 8.5 -- Marvin Del Grande
"This dunk really needed the perfect coordination between you and your helper and you did it! I'm not 100% sold on the execution, but I think it worked out for you in the end." -- Scott Masterson
Chuck starts to applaud. "Marvelous. Y'all all did I good job here. The skill, the joy, the excitement. That's basketball right there. A tiny bit sloppy, but just a tiny bit. Very well done." -- Chuck Mandaville

Leon Delmont

To start his second dunk, Leon stands only a foot away from the fans seated on the right sideline, right along to the baseline. A basketball in his paws, he spins it twice before tossing the ball high up in the air towards the hoop, delaying his run a fraction of a second to get the timing just right.

He builds from a walk to a jog as he heads towards the basket from the right side, the ball bouncing a foot or two short of the rim just in front of him. As it sails up again, so does Leon, planting his footpaw and twisting his body. He initiates his jump and spin tapping the ball with right paw on the way up, causing its path to change, pushing it up and bouncing off the backboard and heading around the rim to the left side of the hoop.

Meanwhile, Leon's jump carries him from the right side of the rim to the left, completing a 540 spin. Now facing the rim on the left side, he grabs the ball with his left paw and attempts to slam it in. Refusing to let it bounce out, Leon recovers the ball on its attempt to bounce and shoves it through the basket once more, his arm extending into the hoop far enough for him to hang from the rim by the crook of his elbow, to the crowd's applause.

"Almost the show stealer here! This would have had to have taken a lot of time to work on this one and it almost payed off as the Dunk of the Night. If they had just gotten it in the first time, I would have jumped out of my chair screaming in excitement! But that sloppy finish just took it down from a world class dunk to just a great dunk." -- Wes Kerry
"I agree with Wes, here. Very technical. Very well preconceived. Ya messed up a bit on the follow-through but I gotta give ya a nod for keeping control and adjusting in the moment. That's good reflex and good quick thinking. I appreciate that. And, again, no bells or whistles here. Just skill in every sense of the word." -- Chuck Mandaville
"I'm not one to be easily pleased, but this was almost 'it!' The muscle control such a dunk requires - especially the one and a half spin after the jump, which you need to time just right to sink the ball in perfect fashion. As much as he still needs to work out a few details, the power and showmanship displayed in this dunk are right up my alley and I can't help but reward him for his display." -- Geoffrey Whitewater
The skunk just stares transfixed at the scene before him until one of the other judge taps him," "Oh, right, gotta remember to breathe," he says, laughing with the rest of the panel, "You took my breath away! Uh, wow, no speeches, no setups, no pre-dunk performances... just directly to the point, great air, great rotation, and the second helping dunk, my gosh. I can't give this any less than a..." he trails off, holding up a 10. -- Marvin Del Grande
" Contrary to the previous dunk, this was a great solo attempt! That brute force to slam that ball back in was certainly a nice touch." -- Scott Masterson

Tyler Conley

Starting off on the right baseline, Tyler dashes towards the rim with the ball dribbling on the floor. It doesn't take him more than three dribbles before he's in position to take off on one foot under the rim. With the other leg, the right, he brings it up and the ball comes around through it, placing it in his right paw. He tucks his head to evade the rim above him and swings the ball upwards to dunk it in the rim, but it sails over the rim instead. Thinking quick, he manages to snag the ball with his off-hand and flip it back around into the basket before landing.

"Ouch…. That one was looking good but that finish really didn't help this dunk… I'm afraid I can't give that a very high score I'm afraid. Good effort but that that moment where it almost didn't go in didn't help this one." -- Wes Kerry
"Good effort but at this point in the competition, this kinda stuff ain't cutting it anymore. It was far from a finished product, and the dunk's complexity doesn't justify it either compared to others we've seen in this round. Honestly wish the dunker had kept his best effort for the latter stages." -- Geoffrey Whitewater

Final Round

Leon Delmont

Leon strides onto the court microphone in paw, basketball sitting at the half court line. He turns to address the crowd as he stands from the free throw line, "25 years ago, Halley Summers wowed fans with his perfect Free-Throw line dunk.

Grabbing the ball he takes his position under the opposite basket. He has time for one deep breath before Leon breaks out into a sprint, dribbling the ball towards the other goal. Gaining great speed as he passes the half court line he gathers the ball into his paws and takes two steps before launching himself skyward just outside the free-throw circle. Once airborne Leon extended the ball high up in his left paw as he soared to the basket, slamming it into the hoop. Literally.

The jump was just a little too far, the basketball hitting the back of the rim and bouncing out, the hoop still rattling long after the cougar lands, the roaring crowd quieting as they realize what just happened.

With his paws over his face in disappointment "Oh my god. Oh my god. For this to have happened on their last dunk is unfortunate. I just hope this doesn't leave you crushed as this might stick with you for a long time." -- Wes Kerry
"I could harp on a lot about building expectations, only to come up with...that. It's okay to go for gold and it's okay to have the confidence to pull off such a challenging dunk at this stage of the competition, but you need to have the guns and the technique to back it up. For tonight, Halley's throne ain't gonna be toppled. I guess I'll just cut to the vote."-- Geoffrey Whitewater
"I think you bit off a little bit more than you could chew," he says, "And it's a shame that you came this far to end up Korbering on the final. But, you put up a hell of a good show this entire contest," he says, clapping his hands to get others to join in, "But..." he says, sighing and holding up a 4.0. "It is what it is, right? I think you just have to hope that Yves messes up too to have any shot." -- Marvin Del Grande
"I was really hoping you could have nailed that one... I guess this is the best I can give." -- Scott Masterson
Chuck has his mouth pressed up against the arch between his thumb and forefinger. He twiddles his pen for a bit banging it against the table before finally going to write his score. He says nothing, only giving Leon a knowing look. -- Chuck Mandaville

Yves Carbonneau

"It is now time for Yves Carbonneau's final dunk. Walking towards half-court, the white fox looks around in disbelief like he was waiting for someone to arrive. But then, suddenly out of the blue, a song starts to fill up the arena...." ""Take on me" by A-ha? A video appears on the arena jumbotron. The video appears to be filmed live into downtown Williamsburg.

On the screen is internet celebrity Marlin Webb! He is wearing traditional Revolutionary War attire, joined by two of his friends: Quack Chauncey and Pugg. They are all doing the jogging man in Williamsburg! As they jog along in the streets of Williamsburgh, they meet up with other FBA stars such as Ivie Robins, Lisa Belle Dupont, and other personalities surrounding the All-star week, as they jog their way into Patriot Stadium! As the trio enters the arena, Marcella Oliviera and Mikaylah Marley join in the jogging group as they head into the gift shop and come back out in full Minutemen gear and swag from this year's event. Soon after, the trio of the "Furs and the Bold" group head onto the court as they pass Yves, who appears highly amused by all this. He then passes the ball to Marlin, who keeps the ball above his head as the group lines up in front of the basketball horizontally.

Yves smiles and shrugs to the crowd as he takes off! Taking big strides, as soon as Yves reaches the group, he takes a leap into a seated position over the trio, and as he jumps over their heads, he grabs the ball from Marlin's hands from under his legs, then slams the ball with his left hand into the basket, causing a huge ruckus with the crowd! As he finishes the dunk, Yves and fellow dunk contestants Jojo, Trevor, and Arther join in on the fun with Yves as they all do ""the jogging man"" with Marlin and friends, following them out from the homecourt. ""This dunk took so long, I swear I could have flown to Coffs Harbour in Rural Australia, Called the FAFL pre-season game between East Sydney and Melbourne City for Vulpis Footy and then flown back to Williamsburg and they still would have been jogging through Downtown Williamsburg" He laughs. "But with that said, You came in with what you knew you wanted to do and you pulled it off well. And unlike Leon, You got it in the rim. I think we have our winner. " -- Wes Kerry
"The performance I could say a lot on - the wheeling-out of local celebs and players alike took way too long and didn't really add much to the actual dunk other than currying favor with the audience. But we're here to elect a winner, and dunk-wise, yours was the best - not the most complex we've seen tonight, but solid enough to not cut a poor figure in a final round and executed well enough to prove the dunker did his homework before tonight. Begrudgingly, but this is my winner."-- Geoffrey Whitewater
Marvin is looking at the screen, looking at his watch, then back up, then to his fellow judges, "Think I can order us a pizza and get it delivered before we actually get to the dunk?" he says to a few chuckles. After the dunk is over, he chuckles, "Geez, I didn't think we'd ever get to this point by how long that went on... Well, I think you won just by the fact that you completed the dunk and your opponent didn't. But, that was a lot of build up for... an okay dunk. So, congrats to you, you got lucky." He puts up a 6.5. -- Marvin Del Grande
"Intriguing tribute to the home crowd, I'd say! Not the most technically advanced dunk, but you stayed to the script and executed it well. I think the winner is pretty clear here..." -- Scott Masterson
Chuck rubs his temples and groans to himself. "What in the hey was all of that? Who are these furs? This young generation is beyond my understanding… I hated the performance, but the dunk was well done. Really could have done without the dancing and music, but the crowd seemed to enjoy it." He groans again. "I guess y'all knew what y'all were doing. There was plenty of confidence without all the gabbin'. Just went for it like it was on the way to your mama's." Chuck takes a moment to think before finally writing his score. -- Chuck Mandaville

2020 FBA 3-Point Shootout

The selected 16 3-point shooters, as voted by the fans, will face off through three rounds to see who's the best 3-point shooter in the league! Each round will consist of each player having one minute to shoot 25 balls, distributed in groups of 5 on racks surrounding the perimeter, with the last ball of each rack being worth 2-points instead of the usual 1-point. (These balls are referred to as the 'Moneyball'). The Top 8 scorers from the first round will move onto the Second Round, and from there the Top 4 will move onto the Finals. Whoever comes out on top in the Finals takes home the trophy! Should there be a tie at any point that would determine who moves onto the next round, a shootout will occur until the tie is broken between all relevant parties.

The Event took place canonically on Saturday, February 23 at 9 PM EST.

Overview

But perhaps the hungriest of all will be Lance Wildfyre, a three time finalist dating back all the way to 2016 All-Star Week, who looks to compliment his Dunk Contest Trophy with its companion 3pt Contest Trophy.

"But before we could wrap up the 1st Round in true FBA fashion we had a three competitors tie for the last spot! Last years champion Jonathan Lawyer and Alessandro Serra were just unable to exceed their 1st Round totals, putting up only 15 points. Whereas François Martineau moves on with an impressive 20 points; remember the high score from the 1st Round was 19 which surely gives the retriever confidence moving into the 2nd Round.

"The last competitor moving on we have not talked about is Narkissa Kassius, who we have not seen in a 3pt Contest since the 2017 All-Star Week where she fell out in the First Round. Yet her score this year was enough to have her join her fellow Albany Alpha Terry O'Toole into the Second Round.

"These are your eight players moving onto the Second Round!"

Round 2

First to set the benchmark in Round 2 is our 2018 3pt Contest Champion!

Narkissa Kassius

Next up is the Albany Alpha sharpshooter Narkissa Kassius, blazing through the first round she came out on top of the six furs who tied in terms of speed.

With 21 points, Narkissa has raised the bar, and potentially booked a ticket to the finals with that amazing showing!

Lance Wildfyre

Up now is likely the most experienced of our competitors today, Lance Wildfyre looking to book another finals appearance here tonight.

He starts strong in the first half, only missing three single point shots in the first two racks before stumbling in the middle of the third with a bad run of three misses. Yet the rabbit manages to refocus and nail the money-ball and ride out the last two racks with only another three misses plus the last shot not being in time.

In the end Lance puts up 19 points, thanks in part to going four of five from money-balls, placing him right in the middle between Kresta and Narkissa as we move onto our fourth shooter.

Matthew Silvius

After finally making a 3pt Finals appearance on his fourth try, Matthew Silvius lost out to fellow Biker Jonathan Lawyer; but with last years champ eliminated in the first round the weasel looks to make his second finals appearance.

Julian Cross-Kiraly

Next up is Julian Cross-Kiraly, the saluki from Hawaii is up next. As the fifth fur up he has to at least score 16 points to force a tie-breaker with Kresta Renstill, any more and he eliminates her and any less he will be the first one out.

Julian Cross-Kiraly has been eliminated, Narkissa Kassias moves onto the finals.

Derek Kim

The last finalist from 2019 finally gets his shot at punching a ticket to a second Finals appearance. Last year it took surviving a tiebreaker battle to make it to finals, and he needs to score at more than 19 if he wants to avoid that possibility here!

And boy does he make a statement.

Kresta Renstill is eliminated, Derek Kim moves onto the finals.

Terry O'Toole

The Irish wolfhound is the second to last fur to take the floor, with fellow Eastern Conference All-Star Derek Kim and Narkissa Kassius having already locked in two of the four final's spots, he needs at least a score of 19 if he wants to guarantee a tiebreaker and higher if he wants to secure his seat in the finals.

Terry O'Toole is eliminated.

And our last competitor for the round, the golden retriever who needed to overcome two competitors in an tiebreaker battle, François Martineau!

And with that our final four have been determined!

François Martineau is eliminated, Matthew Silvius and Lance Wildfyre move onto the finals.

Finals

Finalist will go in order based on their finish of the previous round, with the highest scoring, or fastest if tied, going first.

Derek Kim

First out of the gate in the finals is Derek Kim from the Biloxi Voodoo! The Voodoo player making a back-to-back finals appearance here tonight facing off against two other finalist from last year, Matthew Silvius and Lance Wildfyre, and finalist newcomer Narkissa Kassius. In fact this will be the third time in five years Derek will face off against the weasel, the two meeting first facing off back in the opening round of the 2016 All-Star Week 3pt Contest as rookies!

Narkissa Kassius

Matthew Silvius

Lance Wildfyre
