Luna St. Peter is a female Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever forward currently playing for the Lorain Firestorm.

Biography

Life outside the maritime town of Port Hawkesbury is harsh, brutal, and short. Most townfolk are raised at to avoid the feral communities of scavengers and predators inhabiting the frozen wilderness beyond the safety of the harbor. Meanwhile, generations of bears, beavers, wild dogs, and others have fought to scratch out an existence on the frozen Canadian coast.

Luna was no exception. Born of hearty local stock, the hard-drinking pup’s aggressive, hard-hitting style of play on the ice quickly established her as one of Canada’s top amateur prospects. When work at the docks became scarce, however, the youth “earned” her last name in a botched attempt to rob the St. Peter’s Cathedral. The conviction cost Luna several scholarship offers.

Incarceration marked a turn point in the life of the troubled teen. Diagnosed with bipolar disorder, Luna received the therapy and medical attention necessary to tame her volatile temper. It was here Luna discovered that her power, coordination, and height translated to instant success on the basketball court.

Luna accepted a scholarship to Atwood College soon after her release. Her stunning freshman season was overshadowed by a poor academic performance, which has led her to drop out and declare for the FBA draft.

2013-2014 Season

After failing to be picked in the 2013 FBA Draft, St. Peter went to the D-League where she played for the Connecticut Dots. On April 30th, 2014, the last day for trading, she was signed to a minimum contract on the Williamsburg Minutemen, her first position in the FBA.

Luna immediately made an impact, averaging 10.1 points per game and earning Rookie of the Month honors for May. She even started in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. After the season, St. Peter agreed to a two-year, $4 million contract to stay on with the Minutemen.
