Ben Bracy is the general manager of the Dakota Bikers, taking over for Romaldo Gonzalez who temporarily filled the role following the departure of Vicki Turner.

Personal Life

Ben was born and raised in Baltimore, MD. He is the younger brother of Brace Bracy who is the owner/manager of the Baltimore Ponies of the United Furry Football League. As a child, he and his older brother Brace spent a great amount of time with their father Batholomew Bracy who was a legendary intercity athletics coach at Marquis High School. It was at this young age that both brothers developed an interest in sports which would define their future careers.

From an early age, Ben's dream was always to play sports in high school under his father. Unfortunately this dream was never realized as Bartholomew Bracy was killed by a stray bullet while walking home from school just one month before Ben was slated to start his freshman year. His death was a blow to the family, especially Brace who was just about to begin his senior season as the starting point guard at Marquis under his father. After Brace left for college, Ben moved with his mother Margaret to the suburbs where he completed high school at Torrington Prep Academy. While his basketball career never blossomed the way that he had hoped, he emerged as a very gifted runner, earning a track scholarship at Braylor University where his brother was the quarterback of the football team.

At Braylor, Ben competed in track for three years before retiring his senior season to focus on his sports management degree. Following graduation he managed the Gest Street Engineers, a semi-professional basketball team in Cincinnati, OH for a year before becoming the head basketball coach at Miskonville College, a tiny liberal arts university in Ohio. In 2012 he was promoted to Athletic Director, a position which he held up until his hiring as general manager of the Dakota Bikers.

Ben is married to Michelle Bracy, and together they have two children: Todd and Marta.

Management Philosophy

While at Miskonville, Ben was endeared by players, coworkers, and fans alike for his personal management style and friendliness. Unlike his brother Bracy, who is much more business-oriented, Ben believes that fostering personal relationships and collaboration are paramount to developing success. As the general manager of the Gest Street Engineers he became well known locally for his crazy promotional antics which he used to attract fans. While this was a bit unorthodox, his team lead the league in attendance enroute to its first semi-pro league title in over 40 years. His plan is to adopt a similar model in Sturgis, SD where generating local and national interest are key to the Biker brand.

His first action as general manager of the Dakota Bikers was to hire Bud Boorman as head coach.
