Good Afternoon FBA fans from all over. We’re here live in Treasure State Arena for the exciting Game 7 between the visiting Dakota Bikers and the Montana Howlers to see who will punch their ticket to the Western Conference Finals. Will we be seeing Montana taking one from under Dakota’s snouts after being down 3-1 or will the Bikers be able to break Howlers’ hearts? We’re here to find out now!!!

The beginning fulfilled the amount of hype this game was receive right at the tip off as rookie Sterling Bengtzing (Marbled Polecat, C/F) and second year veteran Cassidy Whitelatch (Border Collie, C/F) went a bit physical for it. The ball ends up ending with the Bikers as it was tipped to Dylan Redfield (Red Deer, F). The crowd automatically booed him out of the building every time he touched the basketball. But it didn’t stop him from leading the bikers in scoring by the end of the first quarter. However, this game was extremely tight in the first 12 minutes. Vincent Maraundi (Caracal, G/F) was able to be a major factor scoring wise, hitting a couple of major shots beyond the arc. While Lemond Conkale (Florida Panther, F/G) struggled a little, he was able to give the Howlers the lead in the closing seconds of the first with a buzzer beating fade away jumper to be up by 2.

The second quarter showed nothing else different between these two teams. During the quarter there were many lead changes between the two. Lemond Conkale was able to become a lot more of a factor in the second quarter as he was able to score 8 points. Also combined with Maraundi’s hot scoring going through quarter number two as well. Both players finished the first half leading everyone scoring wise with 11 points each. Meanwhile, Redfield has also been able to keep Dakota in this on both ends of the floor with scoring 10 points and grabbing 4 boards, including 2 that were on the offensive end. Even with the deer’s efforts, the Howlers were still able to keep ahead as the first half comes to a close.

In the start of the second half, the two teams were able to keep it close within the first minute. However, it was all Howlers throughout the third. Second year veteran Hiroyuki Matsuura (Shrike, C/F) held his ground very well against Fenruss Brylee (Black Wolf, F/C) as he was able to commit a powerful block that made an extremely powerful surge from the Howler fans throughout the building, and became the turning point. Maraundi seemed to have never cooled off as he continued to make shots throughout the game, and he led the Howlers to a 13-2 run against Bikers. After finishing the third quarter, the Howlers taking a commanding 10 point lead.

Finally in the fourth quarter, things had gotten too heated between the Bikers and Howlers, more specifically Brylee and Sterling. Within the first 5 minutes, the two players had gotten into a tussle, and Brylee elbowed the rookie hard right in the polecat’s jaw. The players on the court quickly surrounded the two as both sides made some nasty exchanges at one another. The refs were able to quickly separate the squads before anything worse could happen. After a short review of what occurred, the refs made the decision to call it a flagrant 2 against Dakota’s power forward, and Brylee had to hit the showers early. While Sterling has to sit out the rest of the game with a dislocated jaw. When the game continued, the Bikers were able to climb back into it with Redfield leading a 12-2 run of their own, tying the game. However, there were a couple of more injuries. With the 12 year veteran, Ryan Malone, sitting out with a fractured footpaw, and LaShawn Grandon with jammed fingers. In the final seconds, both teams were tied 109 a piece with the Howlers having the rock. The audience was standing and cheering as loud as possible as Wescot Yobia inbounded the ball over to Ren Inoue. The defense was tight on the inu, but he was able to pass it over to the hot paw in Maraundi. The caracal was quickly double teamed by Catherine DeMille and Matthew Silvius. With no time to pass it to someone, he does his best effort to shoot a long three in time. The ball bounced a couple of times before finally going through the hoop as the buzzer sounded. The game is over, and the Howlers will return to the Western Conference finals with the score 109-112!!! The Player of the Game is Hiro with 19 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Redfield finishes his final game of the season with 29 points, while Maraundi finishes with 28 points.

Aloha from The Punchbowl! Audrey Baradi with this update on the FBA Playoffs. It’s down to the wire with two standout Western Conference teams as the other game 7 of the second round also got underway. Quvianuq returns to the court after missing the Summit's last game which could have shut the Kahunas down back in Seattle. Barrett and Tate make sure to keep the pressure on the FBA’s tallest front court duo, maximizing the scoring opportunities for the home team to match the visitors' scoring machine in fox form. An ally-oop pass by Sharp to Barrett closed the first quarter with a brisk 31 to 24 Hawaii lead.

With a 7 point lead, Hawaii rotates the bench early on giving Seattle an opportunity to close the gap. Seattle immediately takes advantage of Hawaii’s distraction with Quvianuq and Turner, allowing Naranjo to sink an uncontested 3 and the giant polar bear to deny Norwich a rebuttal. The gap narrows enough to even the score within a possession but a shot from the woods by DeMarcus rattles out and gets picked up by Tate. The gap widens back to 5 and holds steady for the remainder of the quarter, keeping Hawaii’s lead 56 to 51 going into halftime. Seattle will need to find a way to gain momentum if they want to get a lead over Hawaii and keep it.

Seattle comes out the gate with renewed energy, evening the score with a well timed 3 pointer from McNamara. Fighting for that momentum, Turner squares off with Barrett in a fiercely contested shot, out foxing the otter to get his own rebound and the second chance points. Hawaii fires back with a set of their own threes from Cross-Kiraly deep in the woods. Hawaii’s towers start leaning as they start showing signs of strain from holding back Seattle’s front court tidal wave. A single possession separates the teams now going into the final quarter with Hawaii leading over Seattle 86 to 83.

The Punchbowl crowd was deafening at the start of the final quarter. Seattle was already looking to take advantage of Hawaii’s second half wear down, Turner starts the final push with a forceful dunk past Hawaii’s defense. Hawaii answered back with two consecutive assisted buckets from Sharp and Feckle respectively. A veritable volley of steals breaks out as the ball changes possession three times before Quvianuq ties up the game with an assist of DeMarcus. As the halfway mark ticks by Hawaii calls a time out to keep Seattle from gaining the much needed momentum. The score remains tied until a lucky bounce by McNamara rattles in to break the barrier and pulls Seattle ahead. Hawaii fights to catch up but mighty mustelids begin to lose steam giving Turner opportunity to widen the gap. It remains a two possession game, with Turner putting the dagger in Hawaii with a two pawed dunk. The Summit outpace the Kahunas to win 113 to 109.
