Biography

Two words regularly come up when describing Lemond: Leadership and Drive. But to get to that, you need to start from the beginning.

Born in the ghettos of South Tampa - and by south, this means south of Gandy - Lemond was an angry kid, eldest of five from a single mom. He played in the streets, before getting into ball in school. At the high school level, he focused is anger at the system into his game, leading Robinson High to three straight state championships.

He was known in school as a point guard, but he didn't stop growing, leaving him playing point guard style from a forward position.

Renowned in the state for his trash talk and physical defense, he was quickly offered scholarships around the country. Most college coaches wary of his bad attitude, but willing to risk it, his final choice came down to Florida Everglades nearer Miami, or Florida Midwest in Tampa. Despite having a program with no real history, he went with the local school, so he could keep helping with his family when not in classes or practice. His coaches warned him, his attitude would need to be checked, if he wanted to turn this into a career. Surprisingly, he took the advice to heart and used the opportunity to start showing real responsibility, he was the father figure in the family, and the star of the college team.

Basketball was a way to escape the troubled life his family had born into, and with his natural talents and his focused drive to succeed, he quickly picked up the role at forward. Despite his size, he still prefers SF to PF, simply to allow him more of his preferred perimeter game, his high school experience at PG has now turned him into a true point forward, and his game is closest to a swingfur with the eyes of a PG.

Quickly over his freshman year he developed into the leader of the team, even over juniors and seniors, his drive helped turn a perennial loser into someone on the cusp of greatness. Overlooked last year due to his school not showing even in the NIT, having barely missed qualifying. He'd entered the draft, and when not one reporter even commented on him, he quickly pulled his entry to return to school for more development.

Now with another year under his belt and a surprise showing in the big dance, he's returning to the draft. Just succeeding is no longer enough for Lemond, he needs to be the best.
