Bright things may be looming for the the Lorain Firestorm as they were able to take down the champs in an impressive 1 point victory against the current champs, the Santa Ana Spectrums. There were many positives coming from this game, Aisha Melbourne (Mink, F/C) looked like she is still in her prime as she dominated the glass with a commanding 16 boards in the game. Leonardo De Hugo (Lion, G) still made his presence known, even coming off the bench as he was able to get 12 points in 5/9 shooting. "This is something that I expected from the both of them." said 1st year Firestorm and FBA Head coach Sabrina Lucifer. "Both Hugo and Melbourne have been excelling throughout the practices and have been able to give the much needed leadership throughout this team." Plus the new additions of the newly built Firestorm has aso made an impact, especially the newcomer Michelle Sundos (Genet, G). She was able to score 21 points and pass the ball extremely well with 10 assists in her debut. She was able to obtain her 6th Player of the game for her career. "I see her as young Lime for us," Lucifer said. "She definitely showed promise in Vegas as I saw improvement in her scoring ability when she is able to start in her actual positions. She can do wonders in the point guard position and we know she will continue to perform wonders as the season goes on." We can't forget the debut of the rookies. Most notably the solid play of Agundio Salvatore Atti-Morales (Cuban Black Hawk/Common Kestrel Hybrid, F). He was able to get 12 points and 7 rebounds. He was also able to score a 3 pointer. "Everything was right for him for a majority of the game. It's good that he's got the 3 in his arsenal and will be able to be a threat on the perimeter for his offensive game. Overall this game is only a preview." Lucifer said. "We'll continue to work more as we prepare for Pittsburgh. Even though we got the win, and it was well deserved don't get me wrong, but we have to put that to the side and continue to work on getting better." Even though with some questions in the small forward position, mainly the team's is looking bright with a solid win here. Hopefully they will be able to continue the momentum against a Keystones team that had their number last year. -Marcus Baylor
