Biography

Living on the wrong side of the tracks forces a person to grow up fast, and Tasha was no exception. In a section of town where despite being a shark, there were some that viewed her species and family as not being true ‘predators’ due to their diet of primarily fish, mollusks, crustaceans and shellfish. This discontent from their neighbors and strangers would leak into the Rous’ family’s work and school, but would fail to drive the family away. Baxter Rous, Tasha’s father first started teaching and playing basketball with her daughter at a young age to help give her a heathy outlet to direct her anger towards. Rather than physically fight people that might be stronger or tougher than her, She was taught to challenge folks on the basketball court. This didn’t always go her way. As a young girl trying to play streetball against those that like to play fast & loose with the rules while playing physically rough, She’d often earn bruises and scrapes from these matches. She was undeterred though. Wanting to play better, she’d join her high school’s basketball team, and would improve her skills on the court.

Her rough & tumble style of play weren’t the best for highschool, and after an unfortunate incident were one of her back spines stabbed a player on the opposing team, she was forced out, and wouldn’t play the rest of the year. After graduating and heading to community college, Tasha would join the basketball team there, before eventually transferring to Ferrengton University in Savanna Georgia. While her playing style was rough and raw, her coach would work with her to help hone her playing skills, settling in to play as a small forward. Her abilities would eventually gain the attention of some FBA talent scouts, and with some encouragement from her coach and father,, she’d send in the paperwork to be added into the draft class.
