Logan Greene is an American professional basketball player for the Bangor Tides of the Furry Basketball Association (FBA).
Biography
When Logan was growing up in Virginia, he decided to become a star. Not the star the college basketball great is now....he actually wanted to play football....
Logan was originally an All-American high school football player in his sophomore year at Blacksburg. He also was a Junior-Varsity basketball player. His father was a former Ohio State football player, owning a bakery in urban Blacksburg. It was easy for him to follow his father's footsteps, considering it was normal and the town was always following the wolf in his youth football days. It wasn't until middle school when Logan started to play basketball. He never really played well against his peers and fouled people roughly. His parents would always encourage to try new things and try your best. So he practiced on the school hoop outside whenever he can, the game of basketball soon becoming a escape from the stress of school.
When he made the team in 7th grade, Logan, never have played organized basketball till now, greatly improved in all areas during that season and his parents saw potential in him to play basketball in high school.
Considering since he was playing football in the of the smallest conferences in the state, only low Division 2 and 3 teams offered him scholarships. The same for his basketball recruiting process.
It wasn't until his senior season that his basketball talent started to improve to good levels and impress college scouts, earning a All-State selection. Scouts didn't think he was able to make it to the college level, considering he only started his senior year. Logan was never invited to any camps to see if he can make it to the next level. Without any serious offers coming from either sports, he graduated without committing to an university.
Logan started working in his father's bakery that summer, attending all the open camps he could to get recruited. With college basketball season coming up, he attending one more camp before working full-time at the bakery. He easily exceled in his athletic tests, but struggling in the fundamental ones, especially dribbling. The Appalachian Mammal College was actually done recruiting for the year, but a scout stayed to see if any gems were available. That's when he found Logan Greene.
Within 3 weeks of interviews, workouts, and visiting the campus, AMC offered a full-ride scholarship to him, which he happily signed.
That fall, Logan earned himself a 6th man spot behind a star senior shooting guard. He decided to wear the number 30 in honor of his dad, who wore the same number playing for Ohio State. During his true freshman season, he averaged 11 pts, 4 rebs, and 5 asts per game, which earned him Big 12 Freshman of the Year. He greatly improved his dribbling to match his speed, and led the bench in points. Finishing 4th in the conference gave them a 11th seed heading to the Big Dance. They lost in the first round to 6th seed UConn, but it gave them hope to try to win a national championship, since it was their first appearance in three years.
Soon, Logan become the talk of the campus, getting interviews on FUMB and FSPN and earning endorsement deals, the most notable one being with Padz, making him wear a padded sleeve on his right arm and black compression pants under his shorts. He was a very popular kid, and was destined to become a top 24 pick if he entered the draft that year. Still, education and more exposure as a college player made him stay with AMC.
Logan was announced starter his sophomore year and AMC fans were very optimistic about the Big 12 Freshman of the Year, however, they got just the opposite. Like Vera La Tiérra's third season, the wolf played poorly, forcing the coach to replace him on the starting five in the middle of the season. He played slightly better, but 6 pts, 2 rebs, and 4 asts were not championship caliber stats. Appalachian earned a 8th place finish in the conference, earning an another FCAA tournament appearance by winning their First Four matchup. Another first round loss soon followed, losing to Big 12 rival West Virginia.
Despite heavy controversy, Logan was starting shooting guard for AMC his junior year. Their previous coach left the school for UFLA and a new coach was hired. Vince Mitchell, a stub coach from a division 2 team, was put in charge. During training camp, he would make Logan stay after practice and work on every aspect of the game. The wolf personally hated it. All the running, passing, shooting, dribbling, it was hard on him. Yet, this was one of the few coaches that Logan actually liked. He created a new gameplan centered around the fastbreak, which the wolf exceled at naturally due to his stamina and speed of a football player.
AMC went 30-3 behind Logan's sudden dominance, becoming Big 12 Regular Season Champions. With a dominant showing in winning the Big 12 Tournament Championship under Logan's 30 points. He averaged 26 pts, 7 rebs, and 9 asts during the season, which was compared to the college seasons of FBA players like Nina Lime and Travis Buckner. He earned Big 12 Conference Player of the Year, along with several other conference awards and he finished a close third in College Player of the Year voting. AMC earned a 2nd seed in the East Region of the FCAA Tournament. With 30 point games from the wolf, they cruise to the Elite Eight, facing 1st seed West Virginia . It was dubbed "The Rivalry Game". Logan scored 34 points, 10 rebounds, and 12 assists to earn his first career triple double. He also decided the game with a game-winning three point shot of the inbound, to end it 74-75 in overtime. The crowd went crazy, filling the court within seconds as Logan lifted the East Region Champioship. Even though they lost in the Final Four to a great Pack Territory University team, it was the school's first appearance in the Final Four and it cemented Logan as a college basketball great.
After that amazing season and an even better postseason, Logan shocked AMC by annoucing for the 2016 FBA Draft. Even though college sports analysts and the media saw it coming, it was still fairly surprising to the AMC fans, knowing they're going to have to cope without him.
Bringing his skills to the FBA was a personal choice, his father was having trouble with the bakery and might close it soon. His mother doesn't make enough money as a manager of a clothing store to make sure they're living comfortably. After a long talk, they decided it was best to declare for the draft and try to get that two year rookie contract. FBA fans and GMs alike are hoping to see the Virginian native play on a FBA court soon.
