Holly "Patch" Barker was a female boxer dog swingfur who most notably played for the Albany Alphas and Tennessee Moonshiners.

Biography

Barker says she grew up in Norfolk, VA, but really lived in Virginia Beach most of her life. Her father was a naval captain stationed at NAS Oceana, where she was living among many of the other Navy brats. Her mother is a native of Ireland, but didn't want to give up her citizenship, so Holly spent most of her childhood flying back and forth between the two coasts of the Atlantic.

Holly always showed promise in sports, and excelled at soccer and loved to play (American) football. But her height and weight made her ideal for basketball. She's a solid player, with a great understanding of the game. She knows how to get physical, and isn't afraid to "play with the boys," being a tomboy herself. Her nickname comes from the brown patch of fur surrounding her left eye.

FBA Career

Barker was drafted to the Albany Alphas in the 2011 season, where she was selected as a Rookie All-Star. She stayed with the club until the end of her contract, being picked up by the Tennessee Moonshiners in 2013.

Barker made local headlines in 2013 when she and former teammate, Albany Alphas Forward Seria Delgado, announced their relationship publicly as a show of support for LBGT members of the FBA.

After winning a championship with the Moonshiners in 2014, the team elected not to extend her contract, and she was not offered another before the free agency deadline. She slipped into restricted free agency before the start of the 2015 FBA Season.

Barker currently works as a part-time employee of the Albany Alphas as a trainer, a position offered to her so she could take advantage of the Alphas housing complex and co-habitate with former teammate Seria Delgado.
