Dan Ira is a male armadillo bigfur who most recently played for the Pittsburgh Keystones. At the end of the 2013-2014 season, the Keystones used leftover cash from their budget to buy out his contract and send him into unrestricted free agency for the 2014 off-season.
Biography
Born in a rather primitive, uncivilized environment (Lost Springs had a population of 10 when he was born, now one of very few cities in the US with a population of 1), Dan didn't really get to learn social skills, and he got a late start at school (home schooled, and not very well). He figured he was destined to grow corn for a living until he heard about basketball during a trip to the market a few towns away. He eventually joined a basketball league at the gym, and he had to bike the 20 miles to get there as there was nothing like that in his city. He impressed so much that the league manager phoned the University of Wyoming sports program to tell them to consider recruiting him. The next year he was playing for U of W and stopping most all other perimeter players with his speed, strength and agility. Able to bench more than 95% of all other players in the college ranks, Boulderdash was like a stone wall that could not be driven through, or around. In fact, with the possible exception of players over 7'2", there wasn't really anyone he couldn't stop, or at least bother a great deal with his muscle and surprising quickness for a player of his size. He's also been known to be active around the rim and bring a lot of grit, hustle and energy to the court. He is an above average rebounder and has learned to convert layups and dunks, making him less of a liability and more of a very important asset on the defensive end.
