Biography
Ashely Nadeau, an orphan for most of her life by another name at first, grew up in Rising Wings orphanage in Brooklyn, New York. She had not known a mother or father her whole life and usually found herself alone until meeting her mentor, a man who would visit the orphanage often. Through this mentorship she found an enormous love for basketball. It was after all the sport she and her mentor would play often after school. She grew close to her mentor and wanting to impress him, she took to practicing whenever he wasn’t around. Each time he visited he would be wowed by her improvement.
Ashley had realized her skill, and with that, a fiery determination to take her love to new heights. As a woodland jumping mouse, she would eventually learn how literal her ambition was. Not shy to facing challenges head on and with a generous anonymous scholarship, she found herself accepted to the illustrious Eagle Academy, a previously all-avian college preparatory high school in Manhattan, with aspirations of becoming a Golden Eagle. Having seen tremendous talent from creatures both big and small in the past, Eagle Academy was eager to let Ashley join the team after seeing what she could do. With both her mentor and her coach behind her Ashley focused her skills on shooting. Points, after all, were what makes a team win. She became a 3-point specialist and enjoyed the rush each time the crowd would cheer for her.
Ashley graduated from Eagle Academy in 2020 with honors. And with another generous anonymous scholarship, Ashley left her orphanage and was accepted to Winchester University. There she had to learn quickly that points alone would not cut it the collegiate sphere. She focused on her speed and increased her jump height to try and give herself a fighting chance to defend the perimeter. However, never quite making it past the third round during March Madness, Ashley found herself at odds with herself, wondering if she should have worked harder to stop an opposing 3, or gone for one herself instead. This especially became heavy on her mind after losing in the third round in 2024 by 3 points.
But her mentor was always there to bring her spirits up. Having gone to every game, Ashley became suspicious and eventually found that her anonymous scholarships were coming from him. And since he had practically raised her and brought her all the way to becoming a draftee for the FBA, Ashley had her last name officially changed to Nadeau in his honor. Ashley has always said that life for her was rough but was always made a little sweeter thanks to the support she was given. Now wanting to prove herself to both the world, but especially to her mentor, Ashley Nadeau plans to take the FBA by storm.
