‘thats the kind of $#&@ that happens when you put low life like that on ME’

James caliber was born in Plymouth,MN a nice small neighborhood. Since his birth he’s had a good life, him and his huge adopted brother jaylon that’s currently still in college played football every night but of course he was always getting hurt even though jaylon was a lot younger his brother seemed to destroyed him on almost every play. that’s what other players mock him for, such a good early life while some other, players have a crisis in their background, something bad happened to them, driving their mindset to where they are now. Caliber has a different thought on things like this. He’s always thought that the only thing that drives mindsets is how hard they push themselves, how far they’re willing to go to become a legend.

James Caliber's first love in sports was football, where he played Quarterback all the way through his Freshman year of High School. By then he had hit his growth spurt, adding twelve inches to his height by Sophomore year. As he grew however, his father pushed him to try out for the basketball team. James had spent much of his time playing football as the backup Quarterback, usually only brought onto the field for trick plays due to his mobility, and his prospects in High School for starting were bleak at best. Though that truly was not the only reason his father pushed him towards basketball, for his dad had played Power Forward in collage for Oregon and wished for his son to follow in his footsteps. James eventually caved to his father's pressure, giving up football and started playing basketball, lucky for him his High School team was pretty bad to say the least, and he easily made the team with his athletic abilities. Though his High School career he trained and trained, set on becoming a Great no matter how much less experience he had, started turning heads as he developed into an athletic 3-Point specialist, eventually, and luckily, being offered a full ride to Oregon State.

But it was cut short his Freshman year. In his third day of preseason training, he suffered a tear in his groin and was forced to redshirt his freshman year due to the injury. When he came back he still couldn't play for three months as the injury continued to linger and nag him. Finally, he was healthy enough to return to the court wherein the first game he started as their Shooting Guard, scoring 25 points while shooting efficiently with a 55% field goal percentage, and caring his team to victory. But his on the court success did not translate to school, as his Sophomore year came to a close it became evident he would fail multiple classes and got declared academically ineligible, essentially kicking him off the team for his Junior year. By the time he had raised his grades to a point that kept him barely eligible it was already his Senior year. It started off well, continuing where he left off leading his team in scoring from the field and proving deadly beyond the arc. However; just as things started to look up he yet again he found himself unable to keep his grades up. With the first semester ending, he faced inevitable academic ineligibility for the second time. Thanks to his Redshirt status his Freshman year he did have the opportunity to return the following season, but rather than face the same cycle of grades getting in his way he quit the team, instead of devoting the rest of his time focusing on preparing for the upcoming draft. Unfortunately, due to his limited playing time in college due to injury and grades, he ultimately would have gone undrafted had he declared for the 2018 FBA Draft. Instead, he chose to use the new avenue of heading into the D-League in order to prove himself before the 2019 FBA Draft.

Throughout his d-league career James showed his talent, with an on going rivalry against other player Xavier cross, he drive himself to the brink barley making it on the “on the cusp” for top 24 draftees, Later on He finally made a decision to enter the 2019 to show who he is, and what legend he is to become.

Getting drafted mid 2nd round, he had no recognition or any expectations from almost anyone. Caliber had taken this in a way that wasn’t to popular in the league, hungry for fame he fought his way to the starting position at shooting guard in a very aggressive way and at this point had been labeled as ‘uncontrollable and ‘stubborn.’ But at this point he had enough and gave them a critical response averaging 14 points per game with 88 percent from the line. After all of this he was hungry for more as he got himself on the bench for the rookie all star game. Now a regular fur would take this as a huge honor but James took it as disrespect towards the effort he put this season lashing out for no reason . At this point caliber is digging his own grave, hearing the his brother was making a rise to the league he promised himself to leave a better impression, now we wait to see what he can do to redeem himself

Now a regular fur would take this as a huge honor but James took it as disrespect towards the effort he put this season lashing out on how fame got more furs on the starting lineup then skill did. At this point caliber is digging his own grave, ow we wait to see what kind of cheese he comes up with next.
Bold text==Biography==

‘thats the kind of $#&@ that happens when you put low life like that on ME’

James caliber was born in Plymouth,MN a nice small neighborhood. Since his birth he’s had a good life, that’s what other players mock him for, most players have a crisis in their background, something bad happened to them, driving their mindset to where they are now.

Now a regular fur would take this as a huge honor but James took it as disrespect towards the effort he put this season lashing out on how fame got more furs on the starting lineup then skill did. At this point caliber is digging his own grave, ow we wait to see what kind of cheese he comes up with next.

Now a regular fur would take this as a huge honor but James took it as disrespect towards the effort he put this season lashing out on how fame got more furs on the starting lineup then skill did. At this point caliber is digging his own grave, ow we wait to see what kind of cheese he comes up with next.

James Caliber's first love in sports was football, where he played Quarterback all the way through his Freshman year of High School. James caliber was born in Plymouth,MN a nice small neighborhood. Since his birth he’s had a good life, that’s what other players mock him for, most players have a crisis in their background, something bad happened to them, driving their mindset to where they are now.

Though that truly was not the only reason his father pushed him towards basketball, for his dad had played Power Forward in collage for Oregon and wished for his son to follow him. James eventually caved to his father's pressure, giving up football and started playing basketball, lucky for him his High School team was quite bad and easily made the team with his athletic abilities. Though is High School career he started turning heads as he developed into an athletic 3-Point specialist, eventually being offered a full ride to Oregon State.

Good Afternoon FBA fans all over! We’re here live in the Frump Coliseum in Albany for Game 3 of the eastern conference finals. The Keystones have been able to take a good lead in the series as they took a 2-0 lead after beating the Alphas convincingly in their home crowd. However, Rodger Umaechi and company are looking to make it even as they play in their home crowd, but can they do it without René Lacoste and Viran Kivar or will Pittsburgh dig the Alphas’ hole deeper? We’ll find out now!!!

The start of the game was very close from the tip off. With both teams having a solid start offensively. Shirley Takamoto started off hot with 3/4 shooting finishing the quarter with 7 points, including a solid 3 in the closing minutes of the quarter. However, Wayne Kirkpatrick struggled early on against the very much bigger Timur Tomlin as he was block heavily in an attempt to drive against the Mammoth. Umaechi also started off hot with perfect shooting in the first with 6 points as the Alphas lead by 1.

The game starts leaning towards the home team in the second quarter as the Alphas kept going strong with relying on their starting rotation more. Apiatan Redmane starts to pick up offensively as both he and Umaechi leads the Alphas to a 13-2 run. Even though the Keystones became cold throughout the quarter, Pittsburgh’s rising star Terrence Tolliver was able to keep the deficit within single digits. However, with both Redmane and Umaechi finishing with 12 points each and Tomlin grabbing majority of the boards for the Alphas, it’s clear that Albany is in control at the end of the first half.

The Keystones begins the second half of the game on a mission. After Takamoto became cold in the second quarter, the jaguar became hot once again as she lead a 12-3 run with 8 points, tying the game up. However, they were not able to take the lead due to the Alphas keeping furs fresh as they begin to rotate throughout the quarter. As we head into the fourth, the Alphas lead by two with Umaechi scoring 17.

The fourth quarter had nothing more than exciting pound for pound basketball. The Alphas tried their best to keep ahead of the Stones, but Pittsburgh kept up the pace throughout the beginning minutes. Takamoto was even able to take the lead for the first time in the game with a fast break three after a stunning block by Sonja Tinker. However, it didn’t take long for the Alphas to answer back as Umaechi tied the game back up with an alley-oop slam with the assist from Kelvin Hailey. At the closing minutes of the game, the number 1 pick proved why he was that yet again after making a clutch fadeaway jumper against long time veteran Randy Catcher to give Albany a 4 point lead with 1:30 left in the game. The Keystones did the hardest to get an opening the next possession, but the Alphas’ defense proved too strong as Hailey was also able to intercept a pass that was meant for Takamoto and feed it to Redmane for the daggering layup to lead by 6. Even with the three from Tolliver to cut the eventual losing margin, The Alphas were able to make this a series by taking game 3 with Timur Tomlin getting Player of the Game with 18 points, 13 boards (4 offensively), and 4 blocks.
This is Almira Stanton with your FBA News Live Look-In from the Predators Playground in Billings, Montana: The first quarter is done and so far the Howlers are enjoying the friendly confines, getting contributions from several players. The biggest factor, though, was Kresta Renstill, putting in three baskets pointers including this incredible isolation play. Inoue drives and passes back to Renstill who's just inside the line but wide open as she nails the jumper. On the Summit's end, they were unfortunate with a few missed chances which set them behind early, but the Firefox train keeps chugging along as Jake Turner just muscles his way past Sterling Bengtzing for the big small jam. When you're seven-foot-everything, small jams look big. He led Seattle with eight points to keep them within striking distance: 31-25 at the end of one. Back to you in the studio.

Hello, again! I'm Almira Stanton with your FBA News Halftime report. Rinse and repeat would be an apt way to describe the quarter as the Howlers continued to get some lucky bounces and the Summit some unfortunate breaks which allowed Montana to keep the pressure on. Jeri Naranjo loses the handle and Lemond Conkale passes out to Renstill wiiiiiiiiiiiide open in the corner and she drains the open trey. Amazing anticipation on her part. As for the Summit, they couldn't stop their temp jobs as bricklayers for a few minutes, but Kinny DeMarcus sank a nice three, slithering into the corner almost under Hiroyuki Matsuura's legs. Right through the five hole. -giggle- And of course, Turner with the very nice hookshot from just inside the free throw line late in the quarter. He leads Seattle with 17 points and 6 boards and Renstill has 14 points for Montana. Matsuura also with two blocks in the quarter to help spur Montana to that 12-point lead at the break. We'll see what the second half has in store for us shortly but for now, back to you in the studio.

Hope you're enjoying the game, everyone. Almira Stanton, FBA News, let's recap the third quarter. The Summit came out of the locker room firing and quickly closed the gap thanks to what's becoming the Jeri and Jake Show. Naranjo sunk a nice basket from just inside the three-point line early on while Firefox decided this was a good time to establish his inside game more, getting inside for three straight Summit baskets via dunks. However, Montana was able to relatively keep pace thanks to the team play that had entirely defined the first half. Conkale nailed a couple of baskets and even got this crazy swat out of Jamie Velasquez's hand just as she released the shot. PERFECT timing. Regulus Lowenthal also was left ALL alone at the top of the key and he sank the three like he knew how to do it all along. Montana maintains their lead going into the fourth quarter. Will Seattle close the gap or will Montana continue to put their stamp on this game? Back to you guys.

Annnnnd that's a wrap, folks. The Summitt put on the gas in the fourth quarter, but the Howlers always seemed to be just one step ahead of the visitors. Seattle of course leaned heavily on Turner who finished with 36 points on 16-30 shooting. It was he and Naranjo who helped keep the Summit close, even getting within one at a point. But just after that basket, Renstill, who was magnificent throughout, nailed the dagger from the top of the key with 1.6 seconds left. On the injury side, Ryan Ottley unfortunately aggravated his previous foot injury while Vincent Maraundi must have a stinging hand after a hard block from DQ. Ottley's status for Game 4 is day-to-day while Maraundi is questionable. With the win, the Howlers hope to have momentum for Game 4 while the Summit look to get back on track. For FBA News, I'm Almira Stanton, and have a good evening. Back to you in the studio.

And this should be a fun one from Frump Coliseum. I'm Merill Providence, reporting live with your friends at snowhoot-dot-com, and welcome to Albany, NY, where we're live with game six of the Eastern Conference finals, between the Pittsburgh Keystones, and the Albany Alphas. The one seed and two seed have been locked in a home-team dominated series, a trend the Alphas hope to continue tonight to keep their season. It's gonna be interesting to see how they move forward here, having lost their 4-spot starter Viran Kivar to an abdominal injury. Beverly Madds fills in small forward tonight, with beloved coffee enthusiast Rodger Umaechi sliding up to power forward to cover for Kivar's absence. The rest of the starting five stays the same, with a line of Redmane, Lacoste, Madds, Umaechi and Tomilin going against Catcher, Tolliver, Takamoto, Kirkpatrick and Tinker. Pittsburgh's line remains the same from Wednesday night, though the loss of Erik Kijani on the bench to a high-grade ankle sprain has to hurt. Will the Alphas force a game seven, or can Pittsburgh take the first road win of this series and move onto the finals for the first time in their brief history in the steel city? Don't change that dial, folks.

And we're underway, folks! Tomilin takes the opening tip for Albany, though the Alphas' first possession comes up empty. The Keystones open the scoring on their very first drive to the hoop, with Kirkpatrick finishing the possession using a gigantic, two-handed slam that quickly silences the riled-up home crowd. The Keystones parlay that into a 12-2 run to open the game, stopped only by a Umaechi ball from the woods about a third of the way into the quarter. The rest of the period is fairly back and forth, both teams trading rather even punches with one another. With about a minute left, Shirley Takamoto is seen clutching her side following a fierce drive to the hoop, riling the home crowd up once again as she's taken to the locker room for examination. An injury to the Keystones' swingfur has the Alphas and their fans thinking about a big run in the second quarter. Randy Catcher and Wayne Kirkpatrick lead the Stones with 5 points each, and Umaechi has 7 to pace the Alphas, with that lone attempt from the woods at least helping to keep the deficit manageable. You wonder, though, if that Takamoto injury is going to swing momentum toward the trailing home team. The Keystones can't be liking the prospect of playing the rest of the game without her. And worse yet, she hasn't been seen as we prepare to start the second quarter. Hold onto your hats, everybody.

Welcome back, everybody! The second quarter sees another surge of offense from both teams. Takamoto doesn't make an appearance at all, though reports from the locker room indicate that the injury might not be a game-ending one for her. Seems she's just tweaked a muscle, and trainers are working on it to see if she can come back later in the second half. Saga Strom and Alan Murphy serve well enough as replacements for the feline, but Albany uses her absence, and the momentum from her injury, to chip away at the lead. Umaechi adds six more points to his total, and they get two crucial steals from Apiatan Redmane, the last converting into a bucket just before the buzzer, to cut the lead to two long-ball possessions at the break. Tolliver and Umaechi are your team leaders in scoring, the pronghorn with 10, the husky with 13. Tinker leads the Keystones with 6 rebounds, including an offensive rebound that she slammed into the hoop, and Redmane, again, sits with 2 steals, both in this quarter! Can the Alphas make their comeback to force game 7, or will Pittsburgh hold onto the lead and tough one out for Taka to punch their Finals ticket? Will the big cat return and 'swing' the momentum back to the road squad? We'll find out after the break.

Hey there, basketball fans. Sorry for the delay! Well, we're back, and here's your third quarter recap. The last 12 minutes in Frump Coliseum proved once again to be eventful. Shirley Takamoto came back, much to the dismay of both the Alphas players and fans. Loud groans and boos accompanied her return, though cheers were had when she proved slowed by her tweaked muscle, hesitating to shoot and defend. Albany was more than happy to capitalize on this, continuing to punch away at the Keystones' lead bit by bit, until the deficit sat at 4 by the time the buzzer sounded. The fans were left shaking their heads, in disbelief that their reign as conference champs, and their season, hung by such a thin thread of hope. At the rate they chipped down the lead the last two frames, it wouldn't be enough. Kirkpatrick leads the Keystones with 16, and while Umaechi holds a game-high 19, Pittsburgh sits 12 minutes from a spot in the finals.

Wow, folks. I gotta say, it's days like this that make you love the sport. The Alphas come into the quarter with a bit of momentum, though the Keystones have Takamoto back on the floor and appear set to snatch the East's bid to the finals. They start the quarter on a 6-2 run, doubling their lead and appearing to get themselves set for a potentially game-icing, crowd-silencing stretch. However, shortly after, something happens: Shirley hits the floor after slipping during a fast break, landing hard on the same side that she tweaked earlier in the game. She's led out once again to the locker room, giving the Alphas a bit of momentum that they turn into a stunning 16-2 run over the next 4 minutes, grabbing a six-point lead and giving the Frump Faithfuls tons to cheer about. However, the Keystones aren't done yet, punching back with their own 6-0 run to tie the game on Sonja Tinker's turnaround from ten feet out. From there, it's pretty much even for the next couple minutes. With 2 minutes left, and a tied game at 104, James Frestrikial of Albany and Jasper Witham of Pittsburgh collide going for a rebound. Both backup bear centers leave with injuries, James with a neck strain, Jasper with strained abs. 15 seconds remain, and the Alphas hold a slim two-point advantage at 110-108. Kirkpatrick goes for a game-tying putback off a miss by Catcher, but misses, again energizing the crowd. Redmane rebounds, shooting down the court with a passion. He stops just before reaching the 3-point line, arcing in a dagger of a shot that provides the final points of the night. The Alphas cheer vociferously, and Kirkpatrick throws up an attempt from 40 feet that smacks wide right off the glass, but it would have been too little, too late. We're gonna have to go back to AmeriSteel to settle this one, folks. Umaechi grabs the PotG award, with 31 points, 8 rebounds, a pair of dimes and a steal. Kirkpatrick is your Peak Pittsburgh Performer with 21 points, 9 boards, a dime and a block. Redmane and Hailey help pace the comeback with 20 and 15 respectively. Sonja Tinker drops 14 and 11 to grab a double-double, but it's sadly not enough. Game seven awaits. Merill Providence, signing out for snowhoot-dot-com. And lemme tell you, this raccoontaur can't wait to see how this series ends.

Tashira Rucson is here at Treasure State Arena in Billings, Montana, giving you a live quarter by quarter update exclusively for FurSports-dot-net! This is Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals, and the Seattle Summit are just one game away from clinching the series and move on to the FBA Finals against either Pittsburgh or Albany. This is already shaping up to be quite an interesting game as Seattle will be playing with their huge bear Daniel Quvianuq way back in the reserves and is questionable after suffering a knee injury in the previous game. Louis Ellenburger is taking his starter spot as Center for the game, thus keeping their rising star Jake Turner at Power Forward. The Montana Howlers however have been dealt a much more serious blow as their star Center Hiroyuki Matsuura has been sidelined with a 15-day injury. The injury and Sterling Bengtzing's ill but public view of Seattle sparked a brief confrontation between Jake Turner and Sterling in twitter, with Sterling ending the 'conversation' with the words "Go to hell". Will Montana fight back and force a Game 7 without their star avian, or will the Summit be a mountain too high for them to climb? Stay tuned for further updates!!

The first quarter has been completed here at Treasure State Arena and it has been a laxluster effort from both teams thus far in terms of defense. With both teams focusing more on offense, the question now seems to be on consistency on the field goal shot accuracy. Kresta Renstill set the course for the home team as she opened the game with a two-pointer just inside of the arc, but there have been some incidents of Sterling having some 'words' with Jake Turner on the court. The television cameras caught him on the act, but exactly what he said to him was incoherent for the reporters to decipher. Renstill and Turner currently lead their respective teams with six points each at the end of the first quarter.

The second quarter has this scent of deju vu since Game 3 of this series, but the Howlers haven't been able to build a double-digit lead by halftime. The Howlers are definitely feeling the absence of Matsuura, but Bengtzing is holding his own as the team's starting Center. Seattle 's offense is keeping on the pressure, urgent to prevent a third Game 7 in their run in the playoffs alone. One particular highlight is Regulus Lowenthal's massive dunk after a fast-break run with 5:34 left to play in the half. Turner remains the leader for the Summit in points with 12 and grabbed 6 rebounds, with 1 offensive rebound. Kresta continues to lead Montana in points with 13, but is only 1 from 3 from the woods. While the Summit keeps fighting, they need to push harder in order to close the gap. Montana meanwhile needs to continue their momentum and try to keep pulling away if they have any shot of forcing a Game 7.

The third quarter is now done and there's just one more quarter left before the end of the game! The second half began almost omniously as Vincent Maraundi collided hard with Summit's Niko McNamara during a drive to the basket, sending both down clutching their heads. Thankfully after a brief checkup by their respective trainers, the players returned to the court before the end of the quarter. Seattle is turning up the heat however, with Ellenberger slapping the ball away from the Howlers' shots and the team spread the floor on their offensive attack to chip away at Montana's lead. With 3:10 to go in the quarter, Sterling Bengtzing drove hard to the basket for a one-paw slam dunk only for a notably aggressive Jake Turner to leap and soundly reject the dunk with a huge paw, slapping the ball all the way onto the fourth row in the stands. To add to his frustration in trying to put away Seattle, Sterling has collected four fouls already. With just seconds remaining in the quarter, a buzzer-beater 2-pointer by Kinny DeMarcus has tied the game for the first time since the opening minutes of the game. *SEA 85 MON 85*

And that is the end of the game! Both teams keep up the pressure against each other even higher, but after so many playoff games and the intensity high between them, it tested the bodies of even the most hardened of players. Jeri Naranjo had her tail stomped on accidentially after a rebound attempt, sidelining her for the rest of the game. Lemond Conkale made one turn too hard during a drive, rolling his ankle. Ren Inoue crashed to the floor hard with Jamie Velasquez, sending the canine to the sidelines and the avian Velasquez also out of the game with questionable status in the future. Kinny DeMarcus also landed awkwardly after a rebound attempt, landing on the court elbow-first and he'll be on questionable status injury-wise. The worst injury however happened to the caracal Vincent Maraundi, spraining his thigh after playing too hard for his body to keep up. Despite all these losses, both teams fought long and hard in the final quarter, trading leads and ties throughout the opening and final minutes of the quarter. With just five seconds remaining on the game and the game tied, Montana's defense tried to maintain the Summit and hopefully force overtime, but Niko McNamara made a long 30-foot desperate shot that somehow managed to cleanly go through the net, silencing the Montana crowd for good as the Summit celebrated their victory. Player of the Game goes to Jake Turner with 28 points, 11 rebs, 2 assists and 3 blocks. The High Howler award goes to Kresta Renstill with 23 points. The Seattle Summit moves on to the FBA Finals for the first time in Seattle's history, clinching the series 4 games to 2. This is FurSports-dot-net's Tashira Rucson, signing off.
<!-- ------------------------------------------ -->

The game starts off with MON taking the charge offensively as they were able to take a quick 8-2 run in the opening minutes of the quarter. Starting shooting guard of the Howlers, Kresta Renstill, was the main factor of the run as she was able to nail a jumper and corner three to earn five of her eight points in the quarter, leading everyone. However, #40FoulFox Jake Turner was able to almost single handedly make a run of his own for SEA, helping them close the gap quickly throughout the middle of the first period with seven points. Both teams were able to keep it close to one another, but the Howlers stayed ahead of the Summit by 4.

Montana begins to surge on as the Summit has not been able to get back on defense as quickly as they need to. It definitely showed after rookie Sterling Bengtzing was able to successfully block against a driving Niko McNamara and Ren Inoue picked it up to lay it in for a successful fast break. That led to a 13-4 run with Inoue taking the charge as he scored eight out of his eleven points in the first half during it. Even though Turner was able to keep the deficit within single digits scoring 13 points, the Howlers definitely have the edge at the end of the first half.

Seattle seemed like an awakened beast at the start of the second half defensively. Daniel Quvianuq was able to defend the post extremely well, gaining two more blocks against the much shorter Bengtzing. Along with the combination of Turner having a total of 19 points, the Summit were able to make a game once again cutting the deficit to two at the end of the third period.

Seattle continued with the pressure as they were able to make a 10-4 in the opening minutes in the final period, taking the lead. The second year star Turner continued his fire with 6 points and 2 crushing blocks. However, Inoue brought them back in it as he continued to drop dimes throughout the fourth. With about 18 minutes left to play, a horrible collision occurred that featured DQ landing awkwardly on his knee while trying to get a rebound and accidently falling right into the abs of Hiro, further injuring him. Both furs had to be helped off the court by their respective trainers and teammates since they were unable to continue. After the collision the Howlers were able to continue the push to try and take the lead as the last minute emerged, cutting their deficit down to three. The Howlers had the ball, but the defense of the Summit were too much to handle as Kresta failed to make a contested shot and the rebound was won by the Summit, which forced the Howlers to foul. Jeri Naranjo was the fur to put the daggering free throws as the Summit were able to win by five.

As the West gets settled down to start, the rumble in the East has gotten gnarly to say the least! It's obvious the Keystones do NOT want to be in a deja-vú. If the rest of the game is like this... whew... Fellas, the Alphas are going down the alphabet fast, as the home team is taking this game by storm. Kirkpatrick in particular is all over the place, assuring them a very early lead. Coffee Husky is the highlight of the Alphas, but they need to regroup pronto as is not enough to find their center right now, because the Keystones are going all in ever since that tipoff had place. Their starting line is a perfectly well-oiled machine that started in a steamroll. Will they be able to keep it up for all the game? Or with the Alpha groove come back swinging?

We're getting close to the second half, and so far the Keystones are trying to set it in stone early! Despite Frestrikial's leading on the defensive stats with 4 rebs and 2 blocks, the home team is still standing strong, the Tasmanian Devil taking it over by storm, both him and Dasher leading the scores with 12 a fur. As the other pinnacles like Takamoto and Freewell are standing strong, it seems the visitors need to get a grip, good god. The game's still young, so anything can change it up. Will the home team get cocky and shocked? Will the Husky wake up and surprise us? Will there be a turn of events or will the events stay will just as the Keystones want it?

Rag Jag back here, and while the Alphas seem to have caught a second wind, the hosts keep adding the pressure to their rivals.... maybe too much pressure, as the veteran leopard Center has gone down, clutching his thigh in pain. Despite this slip-up, the hosts seem confident in keeping the momentum as it's going to a close. Kirkpatrick has been the biggest beast on the court, with 22 points to his name. Umaechi leads the Alphas (per usual) with 17 points. Will this be it ladies and colts? Will Freewell be back in time for the away stretch? Or will this play off as a phyrric victory?

With their astounding lead, Pittsburgh takes it easy, trusting their bench on their later half, especially with Lance's incident. Alphas tried to hustle their way against the stream, but they end up paying some cuz of it: Coffee Husky and #1 draft pick Kelvin Hailey klutzed out and had to miss the rest of the game, while Lt. Lacoste and Viran Kivar slipped out more notably, most likely needing ot visit the ward later off. The hoem bench isn't slackign at all with rookie Erik Kijani nailing 4 of his 5 hots and late pickup Ron Williamson snatching more points than minutes he was in. Tomlin attempted to hold up the fort but the deal was set. The Keystones defended their home successfully. Will they be able to coast through? Or will the Alphas come back swinging, being the team with the most cleancut playoff path to date? This has been Zane Donovan, and we'll see you in Albany!

<!-- ------------------------------------------ -->

How's it going, eh? Mitch Dunn reporting from GAME ONE of the Western Conference between the Seattle Summit and Montana Howlers. Two different teams with their own unique attributes. We will see how the two will fare in this heated tilt live from Seattle. First Quarter: It seems that Seattle is reserved and is feeling their opponents out, which is curious, because the two have played each other well over a month ago during the regular season. But it is a familiar pattern for both teams as Montana strikes first on the scoreboard, while Seattle contently studies their opponents. From what I'm feeling, this might become a hot tilt later on.

Second Quarter: Montana's head coach O'Neill sent out his bench to start off the second, giving Seattle a chance to capitalize. Early efforts showed promise, but the Montana defense has become a force to be reckoned with, as Matsuura collected 6 rebounds in total after the first half and gained a MASSIVE block on fellow avian Evan Marshall at the 8-minute mark, sending the Summit fans into a collective gasp. While Turner was able to double his scoring account at 12, Kresta lets a few of her shots hit nothing but net to improve her standings to 11. Seattle continued to press throughout the quarter, but Montana managed to answer them so far. Montana can be satisfied with maintaining their lead into the second half.

Third Quarter: The two teams come out of the break very aggressive, as fouls were exchanged between them. Even Sterling Bengtzing had a heated moment where he got into his opponent's face, only to be held back by his point guard. This game showed its ugly side in this quarter as no team wanted to give the other any space. Niko McNamara lets out a buzzer-beating longball to end the period to cut the double-digit lead and the fans spiked the decibel rating for a least a few seconds as the teams went back to their benches. Montana will start the final frame up by eight. Turner has 17 points and a huge block under his belt, Kresta Renstill leads the visitors scoring with 16.

Fourth Quarter: Seattle finally began to feed on their home crowd energy and momentum from McNamara's buzzer-beater to quickly erase Montana's lead with a 10-2 run to open the fourth. It's back and forth down to the wire, though reserves Brisbane and Rodrigues crumble under the Summit's intensity and are pulled for injuries. Marshall re-injures his elbow and also sits out, as does rookie Ryan Ottley, tangling up with Maraundi and falling awkwardly onto the floor. Ren Inoue saves the Howlers with a last-second three from the corner to nullify the Summit's lead and tie the game up, with 0.7 seconds to spare. Turner can't convert on the final possession, so there'll be overtime!

Overtime: OT> With Kinny sliding/slithering to PG, Velasquez and McNamara step in and lead the home team in the extra frame, with long doubles and threes, while Turner pads his stats with another block on a high-flying Conkale and a few more points. Kresta's deep shots haven't been the same since the second quarter and neither Matsuura nor Wescot Yobia can grab enough second chance points to hold back Seattle. With a great push fueled by the lively Seattle crowd, the Summit come from a 8-point deficit after the third quarter to a respectable 4-point win in Overtime, the crowd giving their team a standing ovation as they headed back into the locker room.

PotG: Jake Turner (30p, 13r/3off, 2a, 2b).

High Howler: Kresta Renstill (21p, 1r, 2a).

Notables: Vincent Maraundi (10p, 2r/1off), Jamie Velasquez (15p, 3r/1off, 4a, 1b).
<!-- ------------------------------------------ -->

Aloha from The Punchbowl! Audrey Baradi with this update on the FBA Playoffs. It’s down to the wire with two standout Western Conference teams as the other game 7 of the second round also got underway. Quvianuq returns to the court after missing the Summit's last game which could have shut the Kahunas down back in Seattle. Barrett and Tate make sure to keep the pressure on the FBA’s tallest front court duo, maximizing the scoring opportunities for the home team to match the visitors' scoring machine in fox form. An ally-oop pass by Sharp to Barrett closed the first quarter with a brisk 31 to 24 Hawaii lead.

With a 7 point lead, Hawaii rotates the bench early on giving Seattle an opportunity to close the gap. Seattle immediately takes advantage of Hawaii’s distraction with Quvianuq and Turner, allowing Naranjo to sink an uncontested 3 and the giant polar bear to deny Norwich a rebuttal. The gap narrows enough to even the score within a possession but a shot from the woods by DeMarcus rattles out and gets picked up by Tate. The gap widens back to 5 and holds steady for the remainder of the quarter, keeping Hawaii’s lead 56 to 51 going into halftime. Seattle will need to find a way to gain momentum if they want to get a lead over Hawaii and keep it.

Seattle comes out the gate with renewed energy, evening the score with a well timed 3 pointer from McNamara. Fighting for that momentum, Turner squares off with Barrett in a fiercely contested shot, out foxing the otter to get his own rebound and the second chance points. Hawaii fires back with a set of their own threes from Cross-Kiraly deep in the woods. Hawaii’s towers start leaning as they start showing signs of strain from holding back Seattle’s front court tidal wave. A single possession separates the teams now going into the final quarter with Hawaii leading over Seattle 86 to 83.

The Punchbowl crowd was deafening at the start of the final quarter. Seattle was already looking to take advantage of Hawaii’s second half wear down, Turner starts the final push with a forceful dunk past Hawaii’s defense. Hawaii answered back with two consecutive assisted buckets from Sharp and Feckle respectively. A veritable volley of steals breaks out as the ball changes possession three times before Quvianuq ties up the game with an assist of DeMarcus. As the halfway mark ticks by Hawaii calls a time out to keep Seattle from gaining the much needed momentum. The score remains tied until a lucky bounce by McNamara rattles in to break the barrier and pulls Seattle ahead. Hawaii fights to catch up but mighty mustelids begin to lose steam giving Turner opportunity to widen the gap. It remains a two possession game, with Turner putting the dagger in Hawaii with a two pawed dunk. The Summit outpace the Kahunas to win 113 to 109.
Originally got interested in the FBA after reading through Buck Hopper's FA gallery and being blown away at the sheer amount of depth that many of the individual athletes got. Since then, has only submitted a handful of characters, but year by year has improved... more at putting thought into characters than the actual writing, but hey, it's a start, right?

Also designed the 2015 All-Star Week jerseys, and has a minor writing credit in an RPG book (it was a Kickstarter reward, granted, but still).
Currently plays for the Williamsburg Minutemen, though played for the Spokane Rapids for one season. Currently back in Finland. Ironically, he didn't get drafted.
* Phil Grandon (Mouse, G) - Played for Spokane and the Pittsburgh Keystones before retiring due to severe depression.
* Dante Blackwood (Cassowary, F) - Played for the Keystones and the Lorain Firestorm, then languished in obscurity for a few years before being picked up by the Tennessee Moonshiners. Regarded as the biggest disappointment of the 2012 draft. Remembers that, and ultimately decided to stay in Australia rather than accept a second month-long contract towards the end of a season.
* Normanna Redway (Pygmy Hippo, G) - Foul-tempered and stocky Scottish hippo (now there's a stereotype). Didn't get drafted; currently plays in the D-League.
* Saga Ström (Howler Monkey, F/G) - Intelligent, melancholy and stubborn Swedish ex-leaguer, determined to redeem herself for a past controversy. Drafted by the Pittsburgh Keystones, making this my third character who's been on that team. Weird.
* Domino White (Wyvern, F) - Happy-go-lucky Australian veteran, originally meant to be Otto's spiritual successor. Didn't get drafted, but ended up on the Omaha Shuckers in the D-League.
* Jordan Okkonen (Spider Monkey) - Otto's adopted daughter. A fine example of how kids say and do the darndest things.
* Harriette Hartz (Peccary) - Journalist. More interested in the scientific and technological aspects of sports, but follows them anyway (partly due to her son).

Eva Saga Ström (pronounced stroom) is a Swedish player who used to play in the national Swedish league, before being thrown out due to her involvement in a controversial incident. She now plays for the Pittsburgh Keystones.

Biography
Growing up in the Swedish municipality of Umeå, Saga was introduced to basketball at a young age by her relatives, as part of an attempt to deal with behavioral problems (caused in part by neglectful parents). Though craving some sort of order in her life and a way to vent her frustrations, she was reluctant to play at first, only accepting the offer once the rules had been explained to her. Once she got the hang of how it worked, she embraced it. To this day, Saga credits those early years for helping her learn self-discipline and keeping her cool -- lessons she has forever taken to heart.

She kept playing over the years, and while she was never captain or the most athletic player on the team, Saga made up for it by being strongly disciplined, cool-headed, analytical and having a steadily-growing game IQ. By the time she graduated from comprehensive school at the age of 16, she'd developed a knack for recognizing a surprising variety of plays and quickly reacting to them. She had also turned into a perfectionist, and combined with a lengthy stubborn streak and her intelligence, it frequently led to her arguing with her coaches and team-mates endlessly about what tactics would work, what wouldn't, whether this player or that player was good or bad, and so on and so forth. This, combined her attitude (cynical, melancholy and seemingly aloof), lead to her gaining the nickname "Spoilsport", which she at least found amusing enough to start using herself.

During secondary school and her earlier years in Umeålfisk Universitet, Saga juggled playing in U-18 and U-21 tournaments with her coursework. Once she was too old for both categories, she simply played with the university's team instead. It was during this time she earned her other nickname of "Silver Screen", a pun on her name, her keen interest in film and the basketball term (even though she does not use screens herself). In time she graduated with a degree in film, having made a short parody of sports films as her final project. She was picked up by a team in the national Swedish league not long after.

For most of her rookie year she was a bench player, and it turned out that that was where she worked best. She was regarded as a solid rookie; she never excelled in any particular stat, but was knowledgeable, versatile and resilient enough that she could help cover her team-mates when needed, despite her short height for the 3. There was even a moment where she crashed into a large moose of a centre and walked away with only a bruise (even she isn't entirely sure how she managed that one).

It looked as though she was set to have a good career... but then, late in 2014, she was arrested for assaulting another player on her team. During the resulting fallout it emerged that this player had been constantly harassing her, culminating in breaking into her apartment and attempting to steal her personal belongings; Saga had thus, in an uncharacteristic moment of panic, attacked to try and drive him off.

The charges against Saga were eventually cleared on grounds of self-defence, but the damage had already been done: the controversy surrounding the case (as there were those who sided against her, to her lack of surprise) had effectively killed both of their careers, with both of their contracts terminated. Thus, she has entered her name into the FBA draft, with her reputation and career prospects at stake. Plus, in her mind, she desperately wants to prove to the world -- and herself -- that all of her work wasn't in vain, and that yes, she is good enough to be able to play against some of the best in the world. Too bad she isn't too fond of the USA itself...

In terms of personality, Saga is not known for her charisma (often being regarded as ugly due to having a crooked face doesn't help), nor for being particularly friendly or outgoing. This isn't out of shyness or being anti-social; Saga would describe herself as 'melancholy in the classical sense'. That is to say, she is cynical, analytical, introspective, and a serious perfectionist. She's also slow to make friends, often saying that her team-mates are co-workers and not friends. All that said, though, her self-discipline means that she's difficult to rattle, and for the most part can stay calm and think rationally under pressure. To sum up in her own words: "I'm no leader... I'm more of an adviser or mediator; a second-in-command, at the most."

FBA Career
2015 Draft, Strike, and Preseason
Saga finished 3rd overall in the Combine Ironfur's Intelligence trials, tying with Misha Maxwell and Ginovani Bartolini. Despite her high showing, she was reportedly disappointed in herself for scoring so low. She finished the Ironfur Combine events with a 24th overall ranking, but was not included in any reporter's top 24, a decision which some reportedly found baffling. Saga herself was more baffled with some of FSPN's actual choices.

On the 28th of August, she was featured by reporter Zane Donovan.

As mentioned above, it was also around this time that her relationship with Axe Okkonen (the brother of Otto Okkonen) came to light, although they both openly deny that the relationship is romantic in nature.

On the day of the draft itself, Saga fell seriously ill with what turned out to be a cold, likely caused in part by stress. Despite her constant fits of coughing, she attended along with Axe, and her persistence paid off when she was drafted in the second round by the Pittsburgh Keystones. She was unusually emotional, even making a sarcastic comment the following day about being bedridden due to her illness: "This is not a good (re-)start to pro life." She did not, however, make any comments about the fact that she, a fan of Ferdinand Bengtzing, had been drafted to a team that had infamously treated him poorly - nor that some folks in Sweden now hated her even more for that very reason.

As the FBA Player's Association was on strike at the time, Saga and Axe were largely on their own during the move to Pittsburgh. It was during this time that Saga was selected to play for Sweden in the 2015 World Jam, alongside Sterling Bengtzing and Hedvin Eklund. Despite her clear lack of enthusiasm for "World Streetball" (as she referred to it) and a dislike for "Bengtzingsson", she did not turn down the offer - not that it mattered, as the team was eliminated in the preliminaries by the Indian team led by Mathiyazhagan Balasubramaniam. Rumour has it that Sterling and Saga blame each other for the loss, but she has remained silent on the matter.

For the remainder of the strike, she became involved with the official Keystones fan club, and frequently trained with fellow draftee Erik Kijani. It is suspected that this training made it easier for the two to transition into life as pro players once the strike ended.

Pittsburgh Keystones (2015-present)
(coming soon)

Personal Life
Not many details are known about Saga's private life, as she prefers it to stay, well, private. Nonetheless, it is widely known that she lives with Axe Okkonen, and the two may be romantically involved. Axe himself has gained some notoriety for his pranks, with Saga being his favourite target, though he usually keeps them minor enough to be irritating at most. One notable exception was giving her a surprise kiss after PIT's game against the Queens Pride on Valentine's Day; whatever fallout resulted from this, it led to the two spending a week living apart before they quietly reconciled.

Aside from basketball her primary interest is film; her tastes are eclectic, but she particularly prefers martial arts films. Favourites cited include House of Flying Claws (the FBA universe's version of House of Flying Daggers) and Big Trouble in Little Chinatown (ditto for Big Trouble in Little China).

She defines herself as straight edge, "in the sense that I do not drink, smoke or do drugs". She also gave up caffeine during the 2015 strike, and as such does not drink coffee; however, she is a surprisingly keen tea drinker.

Late in the 2015-2016 season, Saga revealed that she had been diagnosed with a mental illness. So far she has yet to reveal what the diagnosis was (saying that she would do so "in due time"), but assured fans that in the meantime, this would not have much of an effect on her efforts with the Keystones. Both the team and her teammates have stood by her and voiced their support; days later she revealed that this was a more positive reaction than she had been expecting.

On a more trivia-centric note, Saga is a black howler monkey. Only the males of that species have black fur, however, so she simply writes "howler monkey" to avoid confusing those who don't know about that particular trait.
