Biography
Ojvind is the second child born to fully Swedish parents, Marko Lindqvist as an Information Technology office worker and Lucrezia Lindqvist, a former European Furry Basketball Association player, who played for Stockholm during the late 1970’s and early 90’s.
From early childhood, his father would play “Catch The Acorns” with him at a back garden whenever he was back from work or spending his free time. Marko then spotted some potential in him as Ojvind began to have good hand coordination, especially judging where the acorn was going when being thrown.
Whilst at a compulsory school, Ojvind was keen on taking on sport from the roots of his mother, at first he tried playing as a goalkeeper for soccer, even though he could catch the ball well, he wasn’t good at reflexes or throwing his body about to reach far away shots towards the net.
He tried Hockey as a goalkeeper in indoor and outdoor but he couldn’t quite get the puck that easily so he decided to try another sport which properly suited him.
At the age of 8, Ojvind then decided to follow his mother's footsteps and begin trying a new sport known as basketball, at the height of 4ft 6inches he wanted to know what position would suit him with the current height he was in, his only position he could be in was at point guard.
During High school he met a fellow squirrel who would soon become his best friend, his name was Erik Claesson. Ojvind and Erik were together through the high school careers, they played basketball against each other for a laugh, detering as to who was the better player.
At the end of the high school years, Ojvind and Erik went separate ways, Erik moved home to go elsewhere and eventually they lost touch. At the start of his university career, Ojvind was struggling to cope whilst being a student, especially trying to make new friends.
He however would end up meeting a female squirrel student who is a basketball player, Christa Balstad. Ojvind wanted help off Christa in hope to help him refine his game.
Ojvind became the crucial 6th man playing as a Point and Shooter Guard, he was mostly relied on with the University team, even in hard times of the game he would know when to step back into the court and resolve the problems as much as possible.
He helped the team tie the game before the end of the 4th quarter with a crucial clutch shot at the 5 second limit. During the overtime period Ojvind had to show patience on when to strike at the right time by conserving his stamina. Potentially trying to bluff the opposition into thinking that the threat is gone.
However, Ojvind was still the weapon as he managed to get a few baskets with the team, at the most crucial moment he managed to steal the ball and run to the other side of the court where two defenders were trying to put off the in-form squirrel.
Ojvind then made a clutch shot once more to not only win the game but to make history as the University team win the championship for the first time in their history. With tears in his eyes, Ojvind knew that with the support of his family, friends and even believing in himself drove him into achieving something to kick start his career in basketball.
With his university career done, he had a phone call off a talent scout, wanting the Swedish rodent to be a FBA draftee. At that point it was a tough decision, would he meet up with Erik if he is also at the FBA? Even leaving his homeland would be hard especially leaving behind his family. Would his girlfriend go with him?
