Biography

Rough Starts

Not much is known about La’Tika’s life. Some say that she was abandoned at birth. Some say that her parents died when she was young. Either way, her childhood was rough. She lived in an orphanage for the first couple years of her life, watching the years go by. Soon, she got tired of waiting, and ran away at the age of 15. From there she was on her own, doing everything she could to survive out on the streets. She picked up streetball as a way to make some quick cash. She realized that she was good, really good. With every rebound and block, she made a name for herself on the streets. Unfortunately, this attracted the wrong kind of attention.

From Crooked Streets to A New Life On her way to her makeshift home after a game, La’Tika was jumped by four other furs she had beaten previously in a game. They claimed that she had cheated, which isn't true. It was pure skill, but they didn’t care. La’Tika may have been tall but she was outnumbered. She tried fighting back, but she was beaten. And soon after she was left on the streets wounded and with a broken jaw. La’Tika thought this was her end, until some American tourists stumbled upon her and quickly took her to the hospital. The tourists, a pair of siamese cats, stayed at the young lemur’s bedside until she recovered. They heard of the lemur’s woes, learning that she was a homeless child. After La’Tika was discharged, they brought her back to the resort they were staying at. After a VERY lengthy investigation and negotiations, La’Tika was released into the care of the siamese cats. It was from there she learned that they were planning to adopt her and bring her to America. Her life would finally get better. She could finally start a new life.

North Star Bound

After being brought to the states, La’Tika was sent back to school. She didn’t make many friends, given her odd appearance (Sadly her jaw would remain crooked despite multiple surgeries), but the lemur didn’t care. The two things she cared about was keeping her grades up and basketball. Despite all that happened, La’Tika still loved the sport. She would join her highschool team and began crushing her opponents on the court. Soon, scholarship offers began rolling in for the talented young lemur. She rejected an offer from Penn State Anthro University, as well as an offer from Ohio State Mammalian University And a offer from UFLA. Many began questioning if she was going to college after all… until she announced her chosen school. North Star University.

Surprisingly, her transition to North Star wasn't as hectic as she thought. The lemur had battle scars, and they respected that. The respect grew more and more as she showed the entire campus what she was capable of. She was nicknamed Crookedstar, for her crooked jaw and for being a star on the court. Half of her teammates didn't like the Lemur, as she was ""stealing the spotlight"". La'Tika didn't care. It was showtime.

Broken Dreams and the North Star Five

In 2021, La'Tika had declared for the FBA draft. Many supported her and wanted to see the Lemur play professional basketball. Tragedy struck a week before the combine as La'Tika was struck by a drunk driver on her way to the gym, breaking her leg. While the driver was charged and arrested, she had to opt out of the combine. This setback was at the worst timing possible, but she knew that she had to bounce back. To never stop fighting.

It was La'Tika's last year at North Star. It was the year she became captain. She knew that she had to make her mark. Together, she and her fellow starters formed the North Star Five. The five drew attention to themselves as being one of the most aggressive players on the court. La'Tika and Company would have the honor of playing the college game during the FBA All Star Week. Despite losing to Claiborne, they showed that they were a force to be reckon with. These five players alongside their teammates breezed through the competition, and crushing their opponents in the playoffs. They were finals bound, and were about to face Claiborne once again. And this time it wouldn't be a friendly game.

Finals and Future

La'Tika and her teammates fought a long hard battle, sadly they would lose the finals by 20 points. This was a huge upset to North Star, but it was also a moment to be proud about. This was their first Finals appearance, and they showed what they could do on the court. Many questioned what La'Tika and her friends will do afterwards, to which she replies with ""What else is there? We're the North Star Five and we're FBA bound.""
